@bman - thank you so much for posting this, and for reminding me why I love IRTL It's these kinds of stories, that I keep hearing over and over, that keep me coming back to this place. I wrote my college entrance essay on IRTL, and I must say, when I wrote about affecting other people's lives in a positive way, I don't think the admissions officers realized the truth in that statement as well as I do. The internet can be a horrible place, but it can also be a wonderful place, and I love being a part of that. I can't tell you how much these threads mean to me. You know you're not the only one right?

although... I would caution you about getting too far into a relationship while still in high school. I've seen too many people get in ugly situations though similar experiences. Being really good friends is awesome, being inseparable is too much. Not only is it overkill, it can be really ugly when it ends, as the vast majority of high school relationships do. I know someone on IRTL currently (who I won't name unless he says it himself) who is going through rough times due to this, and multiple people in real life. Both of you just always make sure you keep your sense of independence. If you still feel great about your relationship in college, THEN you can start thinking seriously about a relationship, but it's just not a good idea to do that before. (And then there's the issue that people who you are friends with who aren't in a relationship won't like you as much if you're super super obvious like it sounds like you are...) Not trying to be negative, just telling you that having a good friend is infinitely more valuable than having a girlfriend in the long run. I'm typing this because I care about you.

That said, I'm so glad you're happy with your life currently and that we could help you accomplish that And FYI, I've never been kissed

Wow, that's quite a crazy story ;o I can see myself in some of it. I was pretty bullied through 8th grade, but luckily I moved. So life is now awesome. I'm so happy to hear that it worked out for you too!

Oh, and what Rabid said is true. I'm still in highschool, and I've had soo much pain because of relationships. There is this girl (the only girl I've really been in love with) that I was together with for months, and I honestly thought we would spend the rest of our lifes together (and yeah, I realize how crazy that sounds, but I can't really explain it). But suddenly I overreacted over something (because I had a huge fight with my parents the same day), and one thing led to another and our entire relationship went straight to hell. And alot of [I am a potty mouth] happened after that too (Including pregnancy, which I got to know after we broke up. And she was thinking of keeping the child. I was so freaked out, that led to so much [I am a potty mouth] ;s But luckily we got it sorted).

But I guess I shouldn't say much, cause I just started going out with her again, after 4 months ;o It's probably not a good idea, but [I am a potty mouth] it. I only live once, and I don't want to go around regreting that I never gave it a second chance.

I guess the only advice I can give is not to get too involved unless you really think it's worth it. You don't want to go through the [I am a potty mouth] I have ;s But if you really like her, then you should just follow your feelings, and don't give a [I am a potty mouth] about what I (or anyone else in this thread) have to say.

Anyways, waay to much about me here. I just felt like telling, cause I can't really tell anyone in real life. But I can tell you people who have no idea who she is, so it's awesome to get it out. Ohwell, as I said, I'm glad stuff worked out for you! Keep enjoying life!

Anyways, I really should warn you not to get too involved with this chick, things may seem great now, but seriously, I have felt the same way you have only to have the relationship break down. Luckily we weren't stupid enough to have sex. Seriously, don't have sex in high school, it's one of the worst things you can do at this age.

Like others said, take it slow, and don't get too attached. If things work out, they work out. If things don't, stay on your feet and pursue other things. I know you may think "Well, seriously, this is special. No, I'm not just saying that, it really is...," so did many of us. Don't go there. Just stay focused on school and take the time to enjoy high school! You only get to do it once.

Well since you are already doing "it", just make sure to use protection, and just for extra reinsurance ask her to go on birth control, but also know those two things will not always stop her from getting pregnant.
