On Livestream: Mask-splitting Silent Flame
From Monday on the stream, decided to make it into a very loose/informal tutorial of sorts. I go through the steps of going from split 3 to split 4 with helpful (I hope) annotations.
EDIT: dunno why annotations aren't working..... here they are:
Mask splitting is more difficult and looks worse because it either takes a lot of work to make recordings line up perfectly with each other or the scenery is a little off and some parts move slightly differently from others in the video. I suggest avoiding it if possible, but if the normal method is impossible because of lag, then mask-splitting will work. (e.g. if I used the normal method for splitting this track we would have 15k-25k at all times, which isn't acceptable for the CSP)
I have a much more professionally-done and comprehensive tutorial on splitting the normal way in the works for my main channel.
EDIT: dunno why annotations aren't working..... here they are:
- Spoiler:
- I stop talking and start doing stuff at 1:15
- PROTIP: Scene in a "sweep" across the entrie track. Spiral motions cause serious problems.
- Step #1: Save as both the end of the current split and the beginning of the next split
- Step #2: Erase scenery in the body of the current split (don't erase the stuff on the edge of the next split) and save as the start of the next split
- PROTIP: Use the Green Eraser in 6.7 (Shift + click on eraser tool, select green)
- PROTIP: Only save enough scenery to have context for whatever you're going to be doing next
- Step #3: Load the save of the end of the current/previous, and delete all framing lines (only scenery should remain for recording).
- PROTIP: Framing lines aren't only used in Community Scenery Projects. You use them to plan out exactly where you have to scene by drawing them on the edges of the planned recording
- Not Pictured: save this as the end of the current/previous split
- I stop talking and start doing stuff at 1:15
