Handlebars - roflmaoqwerty Empty Handlebars - roflmaoqwerty

Post by roflmaoqwerty Sun Jul 21, 2013 3:07 pm

This is not my masterpiece by any definition of the word, but damn son, where'd ya find this? it was a big project and one I had a great deal of fun making. This originally wasn't intended to go the full length of the song, but as soon as I started quirking I couldn't stop; before I knew it, I had cranked out nearly three minutes of quasi-synced omni goodness.

I don't even know if the mood of the song fits the track, but I tried to make each section progressively intense and aggressive to fit the music. To all the "emotional quirk" haters, this is NOT trying to be emotional, tell a story, or do anything of the sort. Please take this track at face value, and please enjoy my creation for what it is: a track. If it really gets on your nerves, hopefully the colour playback will give you a different vibe. Regardless, I sincerely hope you have as much fun watching this track as I did making it. Very Happy
Also, I'm totally prepared for people to tear into this one, so do your worst. jkjk criticism is appreciated, but please be constructive.

EDIT: Don't even THINK about mentioning the manuelman track with this song. I've seen it infinity plus one times already. xD
but :|

Ho Li Fuk would be so proud to be the definition of this track. There are just.... I think that in terms of emotion I've felt while watching a track, this comes very close to hitting right on that spot.

That was incredible. The ending gave me goosebumps with the epicness, and I don't just mean the music, the color playback still amazed me with how solid it was by itself. I am once again amazed at your improvement, and you certainly deserve all the credit you're given. I had high hopes for this track, and you did not disappoint. I am ligitimately inspired by this track to go play more, stellar job.

Also, I inspired you to do manuquirk? I don't even know where that came from xD

Well that was awesome. Only thing I suggest is trying to make some flings without stacking so we could see the tricks. Smile

EDIT: I really really love the beginning manuquirk section!

HOLY SHOE

I cannot avoid calling this a masterpiece because it is hands down the best omnitrack ever created in my opinion. The reason I think it is the best omnitrack ever created, is that it had the clearest vision of any track I've seen in quite some time. Not only that but it had distinct sections that worked beautifully both with the music and with the track as a whole, the consistency was incredible, and the skill in varied styles was totally off the charts.

I got did a happy dance at each style shift with the different sections of the song, I laughed out loud at 2:20 and I said "HO LEE SHIT" out loud at 3:00

Maybe it's not your masterpiece, but it is a monumental track. If you have better things in store, or even if you have anything else in store, damn I want to see what they are!

Alright now I want to go through and list specifics.
  • Okay I love how you start with chill manuquirk. It fits the music and it is a great way to start an omni in general. Also you are crazy good at it. I felt like I was watching OTDE.
  • XY section fit perfectly with this shift in the music, and DAMN you are good at XY too.
  • Manual section fits so well too! Opens up the track a bit without getting intense, which fits with the music perfectly. The first few seconds when he's saying "Look at me" and "It's good to be, alive" fit so well. I don't know how precisely you synced this but it came out really amazing and it feels like every moment fits.
  • Gosh you are amazing, the 45degree XY is like the XY section before but because it is 45degree it is able to be opened up a bit more so it feels like it keeps building, and DAMN this is like the best 45 degree XY I can remember ever seeing, mad props.
  • It's like the airtime at the end sets up this big............. and then we go into progressive quirk. It literally had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the epicness and then it was like, haha, jk, I'm gonna chill for a bit more. But WOW, this fit with this section so well I don't even know, it was like, since the lyrics relaxed it was your chance to show off your misdirectional skills and it was so enjoyable. And again it felt like there were a lot of small moments that synced up so well.
  • 2:14 was one of the best accelerations ever. whoa dude.
  • sync at 2:19 was like the best thing because it's like the first big intentional sync and comes right here and is just GREAT and then again at 2:22
  • sync at 2:26 was GREAT even though it wasn't airtime or anything, it was clearly intentional
  • Dude this whole section is amazing it's like, I have no words. The variety, the way it fits with the music, the unpredictability, the flow or whatever anyone wants to call it. Well done sir, well done.
  • okay one bit that didn't gel with me was the sync at 2:55 because the airtime had been used so dramatically before and this was... less so.
  • But then at 2:58 when you accelerate as the shit lyrically hits the fan I didn't care anymore. This whole section I can't watch without getting shivers, seriously, I've watched this three times as I review it and EVERY. TIME.
  • Okay the one other moment I don't care for is the end, he ends like 1 second before the music and I'm just like... but- but- but- this could have been the most powerful moment in the track. It's still great, it's just that he stalls at 3:09 and the music hits home at 3:10 and it makes a little sad.

So yeah. mindblowing track dude. Can't wait to see what you do next.

EDIT: oh and one more thing. The music sync in the credits was also enjoyable, and the shoutouts were well worth a read, for anyone who was like me and usually skips the credits

Well, this is without a doubt one of my top 5 favorite tracks of all time. The Holy Shoe is definitely well deserved!

Either the first section of manuquirk or the high speed modern quirk near the end were my favorite parts. Your manuquirk at the start rivals even HKay, JZorr, and IGLima. And as for that last high speed section... you have way more control than I could ever hope to have. =o (Also, best 45 degree track section ever?)

I really don't know how you managed to get this good, and considering that this isn't even your 'masterpiece,' I'm eager to see your future tracks. Thumbs Up

wow jesus 10/10

First thoughts
1) Pretty cool manuquirk. Pretty smooth. nice grannys.
2) Your XY is pretty cool. It's nice looking
3) 45 degree snap is SO COOL. Yours was very strong and flippy and great. Why don't more people do 45 degree tracks? :ooooo
4) Great transition from 45 to alt quirk
5) I don't like a lot of alt quirk but yours was pretty damn great.
6) Holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii - highspeed wow wow super wow
7) wow damn

One of the best naked tracks I've seen. Like Cereal said, definitely top 5. Your highspeed and alt quirk are definitely top notch. After reading boo's comment about stacks, I have to agree -- there might have been too many? I don't really know quirk though.

Your manuquirk is good but you could work on your curves. =p Try to flip and change directions in ways that don't really make sense. I liked the song choice -- it really paid off towards the end. Goosebumps mang. Keep makin terck. Thumbs Up

Reminds me of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7NgrYc-o88

Now wow, I thought this was your master peace but now this questions me about your real master peace. Anyways the style of the track, I like it as well as the syncing of the track . I also like the 45 degree xy, it seems pretty legit as well as the xy too. Overall I thought this was a fantastic track and I hope HP will see this.

Amazing track, man.

Each part worked so well in relation to the music, it really made the track feel like an omni. The point rabid brought up about the anticipation going into the prog. quirk as well as the airtime syncs just adds to this. It was interesting to hear it with a alternative piece of music too. Definitely gave it a different feeling.

Specifically, the highspeed ending quirk was probably my favorite part. Tbh the only section that felt a little lacking was the plain manuals in the middle. They just didn't feel quite up to par with the insane quality of the rest of the track. All the other parts, specifically the quirk and XYZ sections, were phenomenal. Thumbs Up

Always great to see meaningful shouts too. Can't wait to see what you release next.

What do you get if Cereal, Kramwood, and Boo made an epic collab? A track that rofl can make by himself. (best joke ever)

Joking aside, I really enjoyed the emotion of the track. It made me really want to watch the whole thing, and then watch it again. I loved the diagonal xy quirk since almost no one uses it.

I see what you mean. I read the comments, and was pretty sure I'd end up as one of "those guys" again. I watched the track, and I found it really good. Really really good. I read the comments again, and now I'm convinced.
Great work roflmaoqwerty, didn't expect this from you. Still I can see why this is not your masterpiece. And I agree that this is not the best you can make by a long shot. You executed everything that you did oustandingly well, but I think what you wanted to make what you didn't make was a moment to be remembered forever. An absolute highlight that people watch the track again for. Am I right?
Don't get me wrong, I'll definitely watch this again plenty of times, but that's because this is one of the most consistently awesome tracks I've seen. Great buildup, great drop, great ending. Everything was great.

Holy Shoe worthy in my opinion? I don't think so because you can 1-up this track as a whole. But then again, the standard has lowered, so I guess in that case this track deserves one.

Quit saying the standard has "lowered". The nature of tracks has just changed. The standard has not lowered :|

Watch all the tracks that got a holy shoe in the past and tell me that any track from the past beat this one at its own game.

So is everyone going to argue over each others comments or are we going to talk about the track now?

What I thought was that it was a freaking awesome track actually. Every section was solid. I was expecting a section that would make me think "eh that part was weak but the rest of the track was awesome!" but literally every section was solid and actually very good. It was a pleasant surprise. What I'm happy to hear you say is that you had fun with it. That's all that matters with this game anyways. Props, good job, can't wait to see more Smile

The only negative: Dem stacks. haha but as another side note, I was expecting a weak alt section, but you did an awesome job with the alt.

Handlebars - roflmaoqwerty Empty Re: Handlebars - roflmaoqwerty

Post by Jam Mon Jul 22, 2013 10:46 pm

Okay, I'll have to go part-by-part with this.

At the very beginning, I was like "damn, this is pretty smooth." I was right, it was pretty smooth.

Midway through it started getting intense, and it didn't make it any less smooth, it was like smoothly climbing into climax.

And then it happened. A mad burst of intensity melted through, completely changing how I felt about the track. It wasn't smooth for the sake of being smooth, even if it was. The smoothness was justified by the contrast with the complete burst in intensity. And then I realised it was no burst, as the intensity was being sustained for longer and longer, and it didn't get any worse. Then that one spot of perfect airtime. I was blown away.

This track is as close to perfection as I've seen in progression: buildup, climax, and unexpected sustain of the climax. 10/10 will watch another hundred times.
