Differences in between Macs and Windows
Is there a difference between Line Rider on a Mac and on Windows? Like are the physics different? Because I am experiencing discrepancies, but only on manuals. I use Beta 6.7.
Re: Differences in between Macs and Windows
Nah, I transfer my tracks from my desktop (PC) to my brother's laptop (Mac) all the time. There's no difference, as long as you have the right version of LR.

Thanks.
Re: Differences in between Macs and Windows
it used to be that red lines were different from PC to mac and vice versa if you were on a flash player 8 or 9. Now most everyone uses Flash Player 10 or 11 so there's no problems.
If you have a standalone, check the version of FP. if it was made on windows FP8/9 it will never work on a mac, but every other version/os combination is compatibile.
There are also some incompatibilities involving 6.7 and 6.2 (and other newer versions) involving saving and loading. very frustrating. if that's the problem you either must use 6.7 or must use anything other than 6.7 (depending on which the track was started in) whenever you save.

Saving and loading? I've never had that happen before, how's this happen?

Re: Differences in between Macs and Windows
^ first happened to me with scening Smooth Stalling by ZNF. It was all blue, so it played fine on my mac even though it was made in FP9, but when I saved it in 6.7 and then opened it up again, he crashed. I lost about 5k lines twice .-. ended up having to make the whole thing in 6.2.
then it happened with Dacite Scened in the CSP. If people saved a part in 6.7, next time you loaded it up (in any version, including 6.7 or 6.2) Bosh crashed.
then it happened in an LCC project, same thing. however, the place he crashed varied, and sometimes he didn't crash at all even though it was saved in 6.7. strange. (I know this because I kept accidentally scening in 6.7, then for a while I thought it had fixed itself, then I turned out to be wrong)
then when mhenr came out with 6.X and kevans with 3.3, it was discovered that anthem scened, which I believe was created in 6.7, didn't work in anything other than 6.7 (bosh crashed)
mind you, this only happens with SOME tracks. others are fine.

Oh... ok. I'm using Flash Player 8.
Re: Differences in between Macs and Windows
Weird... So I'm trying to make a track synced to a song, and I started on a Mac. Now I'm using Windows and the track is much slower than the music...
Re: Differences in between Macs and Windows
Have you checked the fps in the top right corner? The computer might jusT be running the track slower. Standard is 40.

Re: Differences in between Macs and Windows
I would recommend using the mac since it's faster, just download FP11 standalone here:
https://iridethelines.forumotion.com/t1765-get-line-rider-standalone
FP11 is compatible with windows.
also, most people get lag after a couple thousand lines on any computer (even quad cores get lag after 3 or 4 thousand or so) - so if it starts dropping under 40fps I suggest using mhenr's timer to sync, and then when it's recorded base the speed of the recording off the timer. (or just ask someone to record it for you)

Re: Differences in between Macs and Windows
Yea I use fp8 still because I'm more comfortable with it and it runs faster on my computer. Kinda sucks that everyone uses FP11 when I work on collabs, but it's not that big of a deal.
