Here I will have information about upcoming polls and how the seeding will be done, when they will be posted, official records, and etc. I'll be running this all myself again this summer.

Please ask if you have any questions or comments! I'm trying to be as transparent as possible about how this all will work. Also, please don't baww about double posts. This one is the main post which I will change as time goes on, and in the rest of the thread I will post updates.

The Big Picture

Our method for running ToCC and ToC3 went very well, so we will do that same method here again.

The big idea is to start out with several large, randomly seeded, multiple choice polls and seed the entries for the rest of the tournament based off of the results of that poll. We will use a formula that incorporates both percentage of votes and number of votes received in each large poll to rank the tracks accurately (Because different polls will have different amounts of voters and different numbers of votes). We will also re-seed just a tad bit after each round to account for slightly inaccurately seeded tracks and other factors (like voters changing their minds lol)

Through seeding, we want to roughly pit the best track against the worst, and the second, best against the second, worst, and so on, (to keep large confrontations form happening early on) and we use these polls to roughly determine which ones are "best" and "worst". They we go to polls of six or seven, and once we get to the Thrilling Thirty-Two we have polls of four, eliminating two. The sweet sixteen will then be decided with good old-fashioned one-on-ones down to the end.

ROUND 1

- 8 multiple-choice polls of 12 videos each
- 4 videos eliminated for each poll
- Narrowed down from 96 to 64 videos (cut out 1/3)
- Each poll will be open for 7 days, one posted every day
- People can vote for up to 8 videos

These will be large polls in order to make sure lots of good tracks don't end up in one poll, so they will be open for one week each, one per day. Starting tomorrow, July 2, and ending on July 16.

- 4 videos eliminated for each poll
- Narrowed down from 64 to 32 videos (cut out 1/2)
- Each poll will be open for 7 days, one will be posted every day

They will be open for one week each, one per day. Starting tomorrow, July 16, and ending on July 30.

like I said for ToC3 and above in the OP, they will be ranked according the the votes and percentage they get in this round and later rounds, and then they will be re-seeded according to their ranking.

using the points of each track under the rough rankings spoiler, I decided to calculate the number of points each person would earn based on every track they participated in.

after round 1 here are the results:

SCG, that's cool but I hope you do it again at the end of the tournament with the final points since they'll be more accurate

I was actually thinking of adding the points to what I have now after each round ends

I'll just need to subtract the difference in points between each round and the previous round to figure out what points each track gets per round instead of the total of all previous rounds.

hope that makes sense.

edit: I'm just going to use this formula, percent + votes, this round (which is what I suspect you will use looking at the toc3 thread) to figure out the round specific points each track gets that make it through as the polls close. From there I'll add those points to the people who made those tracks that go on to round 3. finally once the last poll in the round closes and I distribute the final points and post the new, updated results here.
