ToC4 Master Thread

Here I'll be posting seedings and general information on what is happening and what is planned.

This tournament will be run in a way virtually identical to ToC3, archived here: https://iridethelines.forumotion.com/f42-tournament-of-champions-3-archived
I will update with specifics next week.

I'll answer any questions in this thread. However, if I make a thread to talk about a certain issue please post there rather than here.

Also, please don't complain about my double posting in here. It's for organizational purposes.

If someone doesn't like either of the versions, they're not going to vote for the tracks made in them. Anyone entering V3 probably won't make it past the second round, so why not?

Are there going to be extra polls thrown in? (Such as best of the losers for each round, best editing, etc)

Also, we should try to get exactly 64 entries in order to have a fairly simple method of polls.

If I could finish this current track and have it be at least a minute and a half I would enter it, but I can't get it that long without way to much work from me :'(.

Also about to start on the graphics...

Anyone have any ideas of what they would like to see the trophies look like? Also rabid can you supply the big trophies the past toc's have used without any edits, just the trophies themselves?

K so I've decided on 48 as our number for entries, I'll adjust the number of supplied entries to match based on who enters before midnight.

So here's the plan!

48 to 32 (6 polls of 8, 3 eliminated)
32 to 16 (8 polls of 4, 2 eliminated)
16 to 8 (8 polls of 2)
8 to 4
4 to 2
2 to 1

It'll be one round shorter than ToC3, which is nice because it means we'll finish before September! Also, the first round is 6 polls of 8 instead of 8 polls of 6 because they will be randomly sorted, so we want large polls so it's less likely we have a whole bunch of good tracks in one poll.

Round 1:

- 6 multiple-choice polls of 8 videos each
- Voters choose up to 5 videos
- 3 videos eliminated for each poll
- Narrowed down from 48 to 32 videos
- Each poll will be open for 5 days, one posted each day.
- Voting begins on Sunday. This puts the start of round 2 at a week from Tuesday.

We will then seed for sound two based on percentage + number of votes - best score vs worst score and so on.

Random seeding will be done at midnight.

YOU WILL NOT BE UP AGAINST THESE SAME PEOPLE LATER IN THE TOURNAMENT - everyone will be re-seeded according to number of votes for round 2.

lol ya. I could see at least 3 of those potentially in the top 8. good thing the ones that make it past this first round won't likely be put up against each other for a few rounds.
