its because hes already going upward (ish) i think, and the thing just leveled him out.

I think the pace of the side movement is just being converted into an upward movement Suspicious

I'd like to see it in slowmo, but I believe it pulls one part of his body (an upper part), which makes him spin upwards, and the horizontal force is perfect so that he stops moving horizontally.

Totally make that an airtime moment in the track 8D

oh i did this alot in my xy videos. it's just because the first well that was y created a spinning movement while it was going a little up, so the second y line stopped the spinning and turned the momentum into upwards motion, nothing new.. sorry D:

You guys think about these things too much. xD I would just be like, "oh cool!". Not "Why?"

you must not have taken physics lol

I can't even ride a roller coaster without thinking about centrifugal force xD

I was so upset when I found out that centrifugal force was a fictitious force D:

On-Topic: I think that's just the well transferring the leftward motion upward rather than just pulling his shoulder hard or something. Isn't that how all Y-axis tracks work?

To my currently untrained eyes, this really looks like he is firstly being pulled "sideways" (like it looks), then his shoulders invisibly being pulled backwards/upwards by the same fling. It's definitely a double pull in my eyes.

Try add a mm of line on the top of the line, and then see. He might fall off (because of his tail), or he might be pulled by his shoulders afterward (like he already invisibly is, just visibly). Try it for the lulz :P

his shoulder is being pulled forward and as his back pushes back into position it generates forward thrust against the line pulling his shoulder. aspi was correct the line is pulling him twice.

basically his back pushes left and the line grabs him right, so since the only other direction that anything is moving is down, he goes up.

sorry if this made no sense.

This. The shoulder is really far away from the center of gravity. Think of what would happen if you had a really big vertical pole (shut up "what's what she said") flying through the air in a horizontal direction and you grabbed the top part of it and then released it not too long after. If you grabbed and released at the right moment. you'd get your horizontal motion translated into vertical motion.
As far as I can see, that's what's happening here.

What Hedge and Georg said.

It's a simple change of direction. Take an inverted rollercoaster for example.

http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/coasters/history/1980_1990/img/cp_raptor.jpg

Let's say that coaster train only has one car, and the track completely cuts off at the point that it's going straight up in the loop. If the loop is tight enough, chances are that the car would fly off the track, spin around a bit, and then fall back down (and crash). When Bosh was pulled straight up by that Y line, he ascends, and gravity pulls him back down.

Hopefully that helps.
