Hey guys... again...

Yeah, this really came out of nowhere. I was going to prune, but we weren't getting a lot of internal server errors, which was a sign in the past that we needed to. So I didn't, yet. I should have checked the actual numbers on how much space it was taking up

I'm sorry. I don't really know how much space we have and when we use it up though... so I couldn't have seen this coming.

In any case, we are back to this place... for now. I saved some important threads a few months ago ( ;_; ) so I can get at least some of our stuff back. And we'll make sure to re-promote everyone this weekend, so we're all up to date.

Also, I will be personally writing TD a SNAIL MAIL letter, and with any luck I will go down to his house and we will work something out That'll be in mid-June, so 2-3 weeks from now.

Be happy that we still have somewhere 8-D

EDIT: Ok, I'd like to remind you that CENSORS DO NOT WORK IN THE SB so don't get SB banned

Also, I'll clear up a few things:

• ToC3 will not happen on this site, we just don't have enough people who know about it. With any luck, we'll be back before July, so consider the deadline to stand. If it needs to be delayed, we'll make entries due one week after it opens back up. We'll probably have an entry thread on here somewhere.
  
• MOTW will continue. If anyone remembers what the upcoming week's videos were, (they were currently in grading) please let us know I believe Vita won this week, and no others got over 3 votes.
  
• Movie Spotlight will probably not continue as we don't have enough movies posted here regularly.
  
• MOTM will not continue, as we have no trophies on this site and no way to get them >.<
  
• LAOTW will continue if CC still wants to do it.
  
• If you don't have your correct rank in 3 hours from reading this, let me know and I'll fix that. I won't bother updating awesome members, and we have no super greys here. We also have no LRL, GFX, or extra member PIPs. Sorry. you'll have to live. I have to make a separate image for each PIP combination on here, and LRL would just be too much work. Maybe another time.
  
• This weekend, I will work on forum sections and such, so that it's laid out more like the old site was.

EDIT2: It looks like we DO have LRL, it's just a gold color. I can't give one to hedge ATM, so just imagine it.

EDIT3: but it looks like we don't have retired staff. Sorry Bing/Charlie/etc.

I find this funny because earlier today, about 5 hours before the site actually crashed, I thought about the space usage and was hoping it wasn't approaching it's limits .

Things happen, I'm pretty sure we have all seen the site down for long periods of time before, it will get fixed eventually. Let's all just blame Chih and get on with our lives.

I don't know if you guys remember last time this happened (almost exactly a year ago), people here were on the verge of setting up a new website at weridethelines.com (which still redirects here). I suggest we do that and ditch IRTL completely. Seriously, even months after he brought the site back up TD still hadn't fixed the "Forum" button which probably lost a ton of new members. He doesn't care, and is simply unreliable. The only times he ever came on were:

A. When mhenr gave him a 30-or-so-dollar donation.
B. When his domain name was being renewed (AKA, he got a bill).

I sent him $2 , but yeah I suggested we start over but it seems that some certain admin is against it cough'hedge'cough.

Doesn't seem like we'd have half the activity if we made our own site. The main reason people went to IRTL is because of Techdawg's vids, and the fact that it was Techdawg's site >.>

I know, and believe me, I'm as pissed as you all are. He won't answer his phone (I called him four times last time the site went down) and apparently he's in poverty but plays some MMORPG all day.

BUT, IRTL is just a really nice site. Here are some things I don't think we could get back if we went and started out own site:

• He had a BILLION hax installed. There's honestly no way for me to track them all down and implement them exactly as they were.
  
• I honestly don't know how to work the templates, skins, and other GFX on the site. The root admin CP is crazy confusing on that note.
  
• We had some awesome members registered there (like fsk) who haven't signed up here and I bet they won't sign up on a new site, but they may log back in to IRTL's original site.
  
• We had some rather historic and awesome posts that are now inaccessible but not lost.
  
• It is well known and many things link to it currently.

That's why I'm going to see if he can give me root access and show me how he set the site up and etc. That way I won't have to go through the trouble of finding out HOW to set up our own site, and deciding whether to use vB, and figuring out hosting, and installing forum software, and how much bandwidth do we need, and trying to track down all the hax we had... It's would save hundreds of hours of work if I could just talk to him face to face and get root access, so that's what I'm gonna try to do.
