What the hell, live editing makes this game ridiculously easy. No wonder everyone's so good.

well. Define good. In terms of technicality our combined knowledge index has grown exponantially since LRA. On the other side, people have always made appealing and amazing tracks and I won't contest thatChuggers wrote:we were this good before LRA.

Track making is just way way less time consuming. That's why we were able to have things like Sheldons track which was 3 minutes long made in 48 fucking hours. I like to believe with official versions that would have been less than 30 seconds.

I mean, now I can put all my scenery in a single save, so that's rad as hell.

You laugh, but if you want to do animation-style scenery live editing makes it a ton easier cause you can advance the game frame by frame. I honestly think live editing has a ton of potential for scenery.Yobanjojoe wrote:FlagCapper wrote:What the hell, live editing makes this game ridiculously easy. No wonder everyone's so good.

Okay, I'd like to point out that while we weren't making all the tricks that we're making nowadays, we (or at least, I myself) had knowledge of HOW to do almost every single new trick that's been done since LRA. It's just that most of them are rather tricky without lifelock and live editing.

Ok for some reason this version stopped working for me all of a sudden as though one of the files got corrupted. Then when I tried to re-download this version, the download fails with a network error (tried with both firefox and chrome). Finally, when I tried to download and run the alpha version, that still works no problem.
Just wondering if the download for this works for anyone else, or if there's a problem on the server side.

I have to mention that for whatever reason avast detected malware in this version but not in the alpha version. As of now still my favorite track editor.

I am wondering if it could be the link site. I honestly do not know if the website could inject malware into a file however perhaps it would be beneficial to try linking it to a different site to rule it out.

yep, that's what it was. Avast (the program I use) detected it as a false positive, specifically the linerider.exe file.
edit: I had to temporarily stop my firewall in order to download it successfully. Also, the exe file registered as a Win32:Malware-gen when I scanned it.

I'm trying to make a screenshot of my track but can't zoom out nearly far enough, and when I do the track lines become blury (I assume this is intended). In the flash version when the track loaded it would always show the full track zoomed out, is there anything like that for this version?

Seth, how exactly did you get it to work? When I did what you described one of my antivirus systems would not come online and i needed to do a full scan to get it to come back online.
