domain purchase?

Any admins/mods got the low down on the domain purchase?

It would be a good thing to put some thought into unless the old site comes back online.

Maybe somebody can get the site off of TD, although the estimated value of it is about 1500 US dollars maybe more

IMO we should name it WeRideTheLines.com or something. Cause I feel like this community is more compact, if you know what I mean? I suck at explaining in english.

I remember making a ipbfree site calling weridethelines lmao like a year and a half ago.

well if you google most of our IRTL names onto google images it brings back to this site. And IRTL cost about 1.5k in dollars? Holy sh- hell of alot! Thought it would be 100 times less

^ if we wanted to start a "real" forum (that I could install hax and stuff on and not have the .forumotion.com) then in the end it would cost about $70 per year. (thanks to mhenr for advice and stuff) I'm thinking about doing it.

Thats google ads, domains is .com,.net,.org etc.

I'm pretty sure it is more than 70$ a year..
Working on 3 year contracts, you can get 2$ per month web hosting, which is 72$ for 3 years, or 24$ a year, vB is reccomended at the rented lease, at $60-ish dollars a year, so 180$ on the 3 year, and a domain would be about 18$ a year, or 54$ per 3 years.
So for 3 year contract it is ~306$, or 102$ a year.

yes he did, and I own vB with a owned license so it only costs me 60 a year now and have hosting for 1 year.

And lone mhenr was only talking about the domain cost, which on dynadot.com is only $9.25/year not hosting.

why do we need vB?

They cost $60, they don't have as many hax, and I grew to dislike it (dunno why) after a while. We can use phBB because there are a zillion hax, and it's free. (Feel free to prove me wrong, mostly this is what mhenr told me)

Yeah rabid i know it costs money, but I own a owned license meaning I dont have to pay the 60 a year if I don't wish to, and actually it has way more modifications then phpbb, go to www.vbulletin.org then to mods then to 3.8 mods.
