Hi, my name is Ben Harvey, I am also known as "rabid squirrel". I've been creating stuff with Line Rider since early 2007, so you may recognize my username. If not, I was an administrator of I Ride the Lines until it went down in 2009, at which time I founded We Ride the Lines and our community migrated there, and I've been an administrator there ever since.
We are the only active Line Rider community that is still around, and there aren't many of us but we are quite dedicated, creative, and passionate about Line Rider. For a glimpse of what we're up to look here: http://iridethelines.forumotion.com/f1-featured-movies (if you're interested) We found this email on this site: [...]
As you may know, there has been ongoing development of unofficial "hax" versions of Line Rider going on our forum for years. Today we have a version that most people who still play Line Rider seriously agree is fantastic, which you can find here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/88470717/LR%20Beta%202%20V3.4.15.swf
(based on 6.2, tweaked by mhenr18 and later by kevansevans) We would all love to know what you think of it. A feature list can be found here: http://iridethelines.forumotion.com/t9027-lr-v3-4-x
InXile has recently discontinued pretty much everything related to Line Rider, as you can see if you try going to http://www.linerider.com. The guy (Colin Northway) who made another flash game that InXile had, Fantastic Contraption, is now hosting Fantastic Contraption on his own servers, since there was a clause in the contract that gave him back ownership of the game once InXile stopped hosting - he got the domain back from them (along with the entire database for the game) and fantastic contraption is completely back up now.
I am contacting you in the hopes that the rights for Line Rider have reverted to you (Bostjan Cadez) from InXile when they stopped hosting it, as they did for Fantastic Contraption. If that is the case I'd like to express as much interest as I possibly can in the linerider.com domain
There is also a new build in progress by a longtime Line Rider trackmaker, Conundrumer (David Lu) called LineOnline. It's in the beginning stages as it started as a project for a class David was in, but now he has graduated from college/university and plans to resume working on it. http://iridethelines.forumotion.com/t10690-big-news-new-line-rider-version-line-online-with-integrated-website-in-development
The plan is to keep it very much in the spirit of Beta 2 (unlike pretty much anything InXile did) but allow for easy web-based collaboration and publication and hopefully involve an attached community. (And also greatly reduce lag in a modern programming environment)
We have been keeping a low profile for years due to InXile having the rights to the game, but when I saw what was happening to Fantastic Contraption and thought that maaaaaybe if you now owned the rights to Line Rider again InXile would be out of the picture and we could contact you directly.
I know this is a long email, and this is a lot of stuff to sort through. Know that we are all enormous fans of the little flash toy you created (I see it as a unique art medium combining physics, movement, animation, and line-art to create worlds to travel through) and that the life of this game is far from over! Hope to hear back from you!

Great Email...if we somehow get the domain, that would be a huge step forward.

You were right.
