IRTL Homepage Design Challenge

FlagCapper has graciously offered to host a new homepage for us, instead of this.

So, I, uh, made a homepage, and I am aware it sucks. so I have a challenge for you all: take it and make it better!

We'll have a poll to see if we should keep the current one or get a new one, and if we get a new one

EDIT: On another note, I have been thinking about the idea of a Line Rider convention. I'm gonna talk to some people and think about issues and let you know if this becomes a real possibility. For now, if you would be able and willing to come to MN/USA for, say, a weekend next summer and meet other Line Rider fans, please say so

Do I have to do it in CSS/HTML? I'm awful at code, but if i can design it in photoshop i'd be willing to give it a shot

you could just modify the existing code and change images, but you can't just make a picture of the site lol

I don't think you understand how difficult a Convention would be. You'd have to place it in a popular location where the greatest concentration of members are located, which is Orlando (Votale, myself, and a few other active members).

Secondly, you'd have to deal with underage members. This could be solved by consent forms, but nothing is more of a turn off when parents of member shows up.

I think we should forget that idea. It's too impossible for kids without drivers license to convince their parents to travel and spend money for a convention about a site that has 150 active members.

2) Parents would be fine, especially if they were willing to provide transportation (which means they know something about Line Rider)

3) most of us have drivers licenses

Responses yay. 1) It's better to go to a place where a better concentration of the site is, then a remote location because YOU live there. That's fine though.

2) Glad your parents are fine with it. That's not the same for others, college boy!

3) That's true, however, most of us can't drive as far as 5 hours away. kthx.

Good luck though, but yea, I can't warrant 200+ in gas, 70 for a hotel room, and food money to meet people online. :/

I would LOVE to travel to Minnesota for a convention. I understand how big of an undertaking doing a convention would be, but I really think it should be considered. Please don't blow it off because of a few people (like Inu) complaining. And yes, it should be hosted in Rabid's area if he's the one to be hosting it. People shouldn't argue that.

That just sounds... like it's going to get me behind on work from school. Sorry but that doesn't sound like it's going to work very well, especially with underaged dudes like me.

Like Cam said, I could do try it if we're talking photoshop here, but what kind of dimensions are we talking here? I don't know how pictures mix with webcoding and stuff. Feasible idea though.

Not to be a negative nancy and everything but a convention would be almost impossible.

I agree with inu for the most part. People don't have the kind of money to get there.

Also, i'm pretty sure you don't even have your license yet do you rabid? I know you didn't have it not too long ago.

I like the whole idea behind a convention and everything but people are too spread apart and/or too young to be able to have money to spend for that sort of thing. Anyone around Massachusetts by the way?

^Wait, Rabid has been in college for 2 years, and he doesn't drive. ... Sorry...

I was looking to take a trip next summer before I leave for school. I'd be down to meet up with some of you guys for real, if anyone's on the way I could probably pick ya up.

I might bring some real life friends though, that's a long trip to make alone.
