We might be moving permanently to weridethelines.com - thanks to .RevO we can set up a vB forum (the old forum engine IRTL used) and get back almost everything that IRTL had, and more (and he has graciously told me that I am free to change the passwords for the root admin and for the hosting CP). The problem remains of the posts and users on here, I'm not sure what the status is on mhenr's "crawler" (that would supposedly copy the data off all the pages and users on here and then save it to a file loadable into vB) and we need to get the weridethelines.com domain from him, but if all goes well, we should be moving sometime before October. (probably sooner)

If we could move to vB and a "real" website, but we'd have to start over with the posts and users (you'd have to re-register), would you want to move? (this forum would still be here) Please vote in the poll!

^ I mean like shoutbox and all the other modifications, not the actual posts (I think TD paid for GARS and the Wiki, so not those, but otherwise everything)

The crawler should be done pretty quick, depending on what I need to get. Avatars will need to be reuploaded by users (vB's avatar system is different from phpBB, I can't copy that over), however most of the other stuff should work fine.

As everything turned out, I have alot of free-time, and hontestly, one of the reason I quitted modding was cause this was all so confusing, and I didn't really like the way modding was here (at forumotion in general, not this forum). get TD's most recent IRTL backup, and just alter some of the titles and stuff? lol. Surely he can email you the database if you ring him, or go bug him at his house?

im sure we can always edit stuff back in to what it almost used to be like (post count, rep, etc) as long as you remembered what you had

Way to go rabid, for making this such a nice community. Over 200 members, on the forumotion leaderboards, you did well. TechDawg fails for not bring Itrl back, and letting it die. But you did one thing alot of people couldn't do, try your best to bring it back. It was gone, now it's back. Thanks rabid. I appreciate you, and I think everybody else should, too. Good job! I think all the members should do something nice for you one day.

Have you been reading my typing? I haven't been able to contact TD.

I think that the number I tried twice though works, there just probably wasn't anyone at home. I'll try it again.

It is possible to do it automatically. In the SQL database, just delete or add certain fields in the tables of members and posts to make it compatible with vBulletin Smile . But it is not too expensive, a vBulletin license?

Why not? I knew i had at least 8200

Imo we should just not import anything from here to what is going to be WRTL except for very important stuff like certain threads. But something like postcount shouldn't really matter, we just start over again and "the race" begins again. It'll in the end not make a difference most likely :p
