Saved Lines Archive Project - Master List
Please read, this is important.
As most of you might already know, I'm trying to work on a massive saved lines archive. A lot of riders have been starting to disappear deliberately or slowly, and their tracks follow in that path. My goal for awhile now is to preserve what we've done as a community, albeit it builds or the wiki, but now it' starting to become something of an importance if we want to keep some nostalgia fuel laying around. (Plus a lot of tracks would look really really kick ass in unleashed if we have them [assuming mhenr gets that to work])
I don't care how you gets these sols to me, via LRFB, this topic, PM, skype, I don't give a fuck, the point is that I want everyone's help to create a mass pile of every .sol out there so we can preserve them. I'll store the tracks in my dropbox, then post the list here and LRFB. Please include as much detail as possible when you hand it over, if you look at the form on LRFB you can see the minimum that's expected. This archive is something that we've needed for awhile now. What will also be useful is if someone can help me organize these tracks by style, we can get a much more organized list that makes finding tracks easier. Whence we have a comprehensible list, I'll reorganize everything into separate topics to make it easier to browse here, and separate pages at LRFB.

For the time being, might be helpful to sort alphabetically by user (maybe put all the tracks per user in spoiler tabs) especially since like half the list right now is shotoku.
Also feel free to link to your form in the OP here since it's the easiest way to send you stuff.
Also, I have an enormous crapton of archived .sols (hundreds I believe) but they're not really organized (some aren't even labeled) and I was wondering how you would like me to get them to you, and how you could figure out what they are. Many are unreleased but some probably are released as well, and they'll vary from virtually unknown to very well known.
Also, some of the .sols I have were made with flash player 8/9 on PC so they only work on those versions. Others don't work with 6.7 and/or 6.x or even 6.2. I don't have the time to go through and test them but it would be nice to have them notated in some way like some way of saying this .sol works with this version but not with these versions
I'd encourage you to shy away from the gargantuan un ordered list you have now because if this gets big enough to be worthwhile (like, hundreds of entries) it will be impossible to find things with the current format, this is only like 50 and I still have to scroll quite a bit. Alphabetical by users with a spoiler tab for each would be awesome, and also maybe try condensing the list some more spatially.
I'm also curious if you want to collect 1) .sols that have a buttload of different tracks in them 2) .sols that have unreleased doodles int hem and how you plan on organizing them.

Re: Saved Lines Archive Project - Master List
@Boo just let me know whenever you update it so I can update it.
@Rabid
First, before I break this down, I would like to reemphasize What I said in my first paragraph, but I'll clarify none-the-less.
The primary organization will be sorted out by style, and within those they shall be alphabetized by creator.
Me and AC are discussing that as of now. In order to get that to work, HTML in the topic has to be enabled. And yes, I know you can do that, I'm staring at it right now, I just can't toggle it. Another option will be to create a separate page in the nav bar that has the submit form embedded. (trust me Rabid, I've worked with forumotion before, these things do exist)
Like I said, I don't care how you get them to me as long as I get them.
That's a mandatory fill in option on my form. If it uses Flash player 10/11 and works universally on all builds, then I wont add those details since very few of us actually stick to one version. but if anything unique is specified, I make sure to add the note.
Like I said, sub forums and pages.
I've already set up a category for omni sols. And I honestly don't care what people submit, if it's just to preserve a specific work of art, then go ahead, submit it.

bad idea because we are always trying to defy categorization because we are artistskevansevans wrote:The primary organization will be sorted out by style, and within those they shall be alphabetized by creator.
They really, really, really don't but that's not the point. Link to your LRFB page with the form on it.kevansevans wrote:Me and AC are discussing that as of now. Dude, I am not going through my hundreds of .sols and submitting them individually and making notes on what works in what, I don't have time for that.kevansevans wrote:Like I said, I don't care how you get them to me as long as I get them. Also, I have an enormous crapton of archived .sols (hundreds I believe) but they're not really organized (some aren't even labeled) and I was wondering how you would like me to get them to you, and how you could figure out what they are. or alphabetization. And spoilers.
