Eden 2
HERE IT IS. ''Eden 2'': the not so much anticipated sequel to Eden, the battle track against .boo's Gone, a dive into the emotional side of quirk, synced to 'Wings' by Macklemore. I started it in November 2012 as a boredom killer, but it became a quirk semi-masterpiece I'm very proud of. As always, I hope you enjoy. Be sure to leave a like, comment or sub!

Re: Eden 2
The sync was kinda more like varying between "extremely intense" and "wtf", but it was really cool and stuff. I swear I almost cried at the end. It was just neat.
Titles were as long as I'd expected.

Re: Eden 2
" the much anticipated sequel to Eden" I'm gonna be an arse and say that I did not care or anticipate this track in anyway shape or form.
The intro was too long and made me feel like stopping the video all together or just skipping to the actual track. It seemed a bit pretentious.
The track was solid, but didn't really leave me going "wow!" or "holy crap!" That music... just didn't work for me.
Overall it was okay for me: didn't really stand out as an amazing track.

Re: Eden 2
Well that blew my expectations out of the water.
Let's start with what I didn't like.
1) the editing did not fit at all, was unnecessarily long, and did not set the mood for the track in the slightest.
2) The recording was rushed. at 1:50 there was something seriously wrong that really took me out of the moment
3) I hate the title. This track should stand on it's own, not as some stupid sequel. It had nothing to do with the original.
That said, the track itself is undeniably a masterpiece, and in my opinion is closer to "music visualized" than any other track. It also matched the emotional content of the song better than anything I've seen. Gone, Jam, Explosivo, Requiescat and Smile all made profound attempts to convey emotion through line rider and while I don't think this one has reached that point, I do think it is a step up.
Alright let's go through it piece by piece now.
- The intensity at the start of the track didn't match the actual music, but you could say matched the emotional content of the song. not sure how I feel about it.
- 1:27 "increase" on the pinch = perfect!
- 1:46 I LOVE this. so many people would have chosen airtime for this moment, but this pinch conveys STILLNESS better and it segways perfectly into the next section. The pinch could have started a little later though (after "so dope") and the editing at 1:50 is screwed up
- 2:03 - this moment perfectly fit and that's all I can really say
- 2:14 - this moment was far too busy
- 2:20 - not a fan of all the quirk in this bit. There needed to be constancy and smoothness here to match the music. The manuals and simple flings fit that, but the crazy stuff did not at all, and it was kind of bipolar in how busy it was gonna be
- 2:32 - why did this slow down when the music didn't change
- 2:35 to 2:42 - this was great and I wish the earlier parts of this section had been more like this
- 2:42 to 2:55 - the intense XY did NOT fit this part
- 2:55 to 3:04 - this was too slow IMO
- 3:05 to the end - this was great syncing... but this was the most intense part of the song, and you had more intense stuff earlier. Felt like you were rushing to finish it a bit
- ending - brilliant and perfect. nothing else to say.

Re: Eden 2
This didn't quite have the epic factor of the first one, but it was an amazing experience nonetheless. My only complaint (besides the unnecessary intro ofc lol) is that some of the syncs were too predictable or jarring. When there's airtime during a pause in the song, it just makes me think "ok, something will happen when the music kicks in again."
The tricks really are insane - I have no idea how to do a lot of this stuff. I had a lot of anticipation and expectations, and you met them. Great job!
EDIT: Oh yeah, and you had some surprisingly smooth manuals in there =o

To be honest, I really didn't care for this track until yesterday when you told us it was coming out today. Now that it's out, I really wish you spent more time in editing. The syncs were bleh and didn't add as much to the overall track as most others do. I also agree the title of this is really awful. Compared to the first one, this has absolutely nothing in common aside from that it has cool tricks and a little xy. It should have been, imo, an entirely different track on it's own.
Anyway now that the hate is over, it's still regarded as quite an amazing track in my book. I think the track speaks for itself how great it is. You're definitely on your way to becoming a legend.

Re: Eden 2
Just a few things:
1) I agree with Rabid that this really didn't have the Eden thing going with it; it would have been even more impressive (which is like saying infinity + 1) if it were its own track.
2) The ending was possibly one of the best things I have ever seen done in LR. Postmodernism, anyone?
3) The track itself was incredible. While some of it didn't fit the music perfectly, there were other parts that set the bar so high that to maintain such a standard would have resulted in the perfect track. You know what I mean, some parts were just so good that it was impossible to make it all like that. Besides, variety is always good, and you've demonstrated your prowess at several styles (but most notably power quirk) yet again.
4) Honoured to be a shoutout; it's been a pleasure to give you my feedback and C&C, and I count you among my inspirations as a result.
And now, on to the actual comment:

Re: Eden 2
Wow that is very impressive, it reminded me of something kramwood would do. Anyways the style itself is great as well as the flow of the track too. The thing that really bugged me was the sync of the track, at times it seemed like it matched but then it would seem as if it was off a bit. I mostly liked the wells and strength of them, they are strengthened very well and the other thing I mostly liked was the editing, it was very nice and creative. Overall this was a very interesting track a I thought it was amazing.

Re: Eden 2
Well the track was incredible, I preferred your original music choice, this one is somewhat less impressive...
Re: Eden 2
If this is emotional quirk, give me dead-hearted quirk, please, 'cause it must be more emotional than this. Honestly I think this was a pretentious attempt at doing something that is damn near impossible: combining the technicality of quirk with the emotion of the song. The synchronization was pretty half-assed, and only really stood out at the last few seconds of track, the song you used was not really a good song for Line Rider, in my deeply honest opinion. To add to my "this was a pretentious attempt" statement, the opening titles were ridiculously long, and the worst part is that you found a video you liked and pasted moving text over it; for hell's sake, have a look at my videos and learn a little bit about being concise with editing; and if it was so very much aticipated, how come I don't really care at all?
With all that out of the way, it was a good track. Nothing more than a track, but at that, it was good. Keep it up.

Re: Eden 2
This felt way too hyped up in my opinion. I was actually pretty disappointed to be honest.
While the tricks were technically impressive, which I have nothing against, there were a lot of more negative facors than postives for me. The editing was really bad. haha like the sudden song changes as well as how unnecessarily long it was. I really didn't think the song fit the track at all. I didn't feel at any point that it fit, plus some of the syncs were actually off. I wouldn't say this track is emotional. I would say it was way over-hyped to be honest. I wasn't feeling it.

Easily one of my favorite tracks. I only listened to the song afterwards.
First impression: Incredible track, great style/flow/power/everything.
Second impression (with music): Wonderful sync, adds a different feel to the track.
_____________
But damn, it's hard to sync a song to. Electronic music is not made for this track, if anyone wants to re-sync like I did.
Also, this looks like a sig. That's kinda funny.

ITT: "Decent, but nothing impressive." To the max.
I personally thought this was a great track, and a great video. Anyone who makes this kind of track should be able to look at it and say "wow, I'm proud of this thing that I made." Rather than write an essay about the minor details that everyone's been driving home so much, I'll leave them be because I think Helios gets the point by now. I just wanted to say that, all in all, this is a really impressive track and if I were Helios and read a whole bunch of these comments I'd lose all motivation to continue.

Hey HP, the reason you get this criticism is because everyone has really high expectations from you. You should be very proud of this because only YOU could've made this track. The criticism is because people think you can do better than this. Not many people can make this and do better. Take it as a compliment. Great tracks get great criticism.

The funny thing is, one of the (if not the only) reasons expectations are set high for him is becuase he hypes up his tracks so much. If you're going to hype up your track, it better live up to the expectations that the hype makes. Otherwise people have the right to be disappointed.
The part I really like was up until that long pinch. Definitely my favorite part if you remove the non-fitting music. However it's silly how hypocritical some people have become when they tear down one track because of its music choice and then come in with the opposite for tracks that are "above average" in skill like this, saying that the track is so good that the music doesn't matter at all. Music is a huge part of Line Rider tracks, it can make it or break it, we all know that. I also agree with Kram when he said that the track really dropped off after the XY section.
There's my final 2 cents.

I might be the only one, but I like Eden 2 more than Eden 1
I have no clue how you can get bosh moving so fast Incredible! I really enjoyed watching it and it gave me sometimes the little wow effect
To the music: At the beginning I thought this song is way too slow for the track, but it grew on me while watching the video! Cool choice.
Like others said before me: The Intro was total bullshit I understand long intros if there's a song that has to build up. But yours felt like a movie before the video...unnecessary.
Overall Eden 2 was an awesome track for me !!
But do me just one favor: Never call your own track "much anticipated". That sounds really arrogant
