What do you think?
Re: You may have noticed
update
there's now a video preview of the stream below the chat
tricky thing about this is that now every tab on wrtl is a new viewer so we could hit 50 viewers in a hurry. Let me know if this ever causes problems.
I've re-appealed for verification so we could get >50 viewers, we'll see what happens (sidenote, when asked "what is your vision" I said "we aspire to inspire each other" and was really proud of myself lol)
also you can pause it by clicking on it but let me know if you find lag annoying

Re: You may have noticed
You should make it so when you scroll down, the stream window is shown fully, even if the top of the chatbox is cut off a bit. In other words, make the bottom of the stream window follow the scrolling, not the top of the chatbox, so I can watch the whole streaming window, even if I can't see older chatbox posts. Probably doesn't seem like a problem for people with 1080p monitors, but I'd rather see the whole stream than the older chatbox posts.

Not sure how to do that not good enough at jquery
Ideally I'd make the chatbox height adjust to fit your browser window. Not sure how to do that either
For now I think I'll just make the chat box a bit smaller to accommodate those with smaller monitors.

Re: You may have noticed
How about we don't have the livestream on the page? Yeah that sounds good. If I wanted to watch it I would go there, otherwise it's a waste of my time to have to pause it every single page load.
Re: You may have noticed
^ Alternatively, I think a better idea would be to be able to disable it. For example change the url.
https://iridethelines.forumotion.com/t8161p25-you-may-have-noticed
becomes

or
https://iridethelines.forumotion.com/t8161p25-you-may-have-noticed&livestream-on
and navigating the forum would save that term at the end for each pageload. I was just trying to go through MOTW threads and I was editing the MOTW Winners 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place posts at the same time, and my computer was so angry at me. Gotta be able to disable it mang

Re: You may have noticed
If we can put the current livestream below the chat like that, can we put a little "most recent posts" list that looks all snazzy?

Re: You may have noticed
yeah don't think this is possible with forumotion, that requires GET/POST control (aka using the web framework directly)ACwazHere wrote:^ Alternatively, I think a better idea would be to be able to disable it. For example change the url.

actually yes, sorta.Votale wrote:If we can put the current livestream below the chat like that, can we put a little "most recent posts" list that looks all snazzy?
Should I put the stream there, paused, or should I put something about recent posts, or just nothing?
for now I'll make the stream not autoplay cuz lag
Re: You may have noticed
thank you thank you thank you thank youfor now I'll make the stream not autoplay cuz lag
I was opening/closing pages frequently whilst editing posts and I was just constantly killing Flash Player with the Task Manager because I got sick of lag.

Re: You may have noticed
I like the stream better when it plays automatically because if I want to watch it between posts then I have to keep pressing play every time. I guess you can't accommodate everyone, but I really don't see what people where having lag problems with. I have one of the worst internet connections here and I only got barely half a second slower. Even with multiple tabs there was hardly any change.

I wasn't having lag problems, if i wanted to waste/use my bandwidth on the stream I would go to the stream page to watch it. Plus I don't have a fast connection so when it starts playing while I'm downloading games or watching youtube then it takes priority over those which I don't like.
Re: You may have noticed
Not so much internet problems, more so computer problems. older computers + running multiple streams at once = lagggggg on webpages
If I could make it an option that would be great but I dunno how (like a hide/show button that would use cookies and carry over and whatnot)

Re: You may have noticed
Cool it follows you now! But is it possible to make it not refresh when you change the page?

I just caught up some of the streams. It made me remember the good ol' days Very cool, it fills up the empty space.

Actually it's completely possible to hide/show divs/tables using... jQuery. Most boards just use CSS/jQ in some cases to hide sections.
http://forum.jquery.com/topic/show-hide-table
Then all you need to do is use jQuery effects to slide to the right and hide.

Re: You may have noticed
I mean it'd be impossible to remember if you show it or hid it, and it would also be impossible to have the page adjust when you hid it (the column is fixed-width), which defeats the purpose of the show/hide.StingReay wrote:rabid squirrel wrote:yeah don't think this is possible with forumotion, that requires GET/POST control (aka using the web framework directly)
