Re: Smile
Amazing track. The bronie stuff was overkill and it took away from the presentation. It would have been better to put some cool rock song in there not a song about smiling, but a completely amazing track nonetheless.

Re: Smile
Well, it definitely lived up to its name. Some of those sync moments were amazing, and the rolls were top notch quality. The only thing that I didn't especially enjoy was the alt quirk, which I found sort of funny, anyways, because it kicked in right at the sad part of the song.

In case you didn't notice, this is synced, and I chose the song before I started making the track. Still glad you liked the track!theacp127 wrote:Amazing track. Re: Smile
Really solid fling quirk! I always thought that this style "wasn't for you" based on your comment on Phlotation (), but if that's the case, props to mastering it.
It seems to me that once you get a new trick established, you can follow through with it extremely well. One improvement to consider would be the transitions between tricks.
But excellent job on this 3 minute track, nice creativity with those recycles, and I just hope there wasn't any music syncing because I definitely had to mute it.

I just rewatched Phlotation and I honestly cannot remember why I said that. I like the track now, I think it might have just been either that I disliked how the music fit the track or that I disliked the lack of manuals. Fling quirk is definitely for me. I started this track about the time I posted on Phlotation.Cereal wrote:Really solid fling quirk! I also still dislike the color playback because of the bastardization of a song from my childhood
I'm glad you liked the track I'm not sure what you mean by improving transitions. Do you mean make them smoother, more technical, or what? I'm sorry you didn't want to watch it with the music, but could you perhaps skip to the color playback? I had put a piano arrangement of the same song to it, so the syncs are still on cue for the most part, it's just off tempo a little because the performer played at a different speed than the song regularly is.

Not a big fan of the song, but the track was sooo epic! Really enjoyable.

I can see why you would dislike those parts. I didn't want to do something really fast or powerful at those parts (because of the music) which seems to be the norm for alt-quirk, so it seems reasonable why you wouldn't like those as much. Glad you liked most of the rest of the track thoughOpal Rider wrote:Well, it definitely lived up to its name. Some of those sync moments were amazing, and the rolls were top notch quality. Re: Smile
Dear god I can't even make a joke about this.
The last 1.5min of the track made me almost shit myself.
I second Sheldon's recommendation.

Re: Smile
By "transitions" I mean the way that you go from one trick to another. Part of good flow is trying to avoid anything from looking 'stilted.' (I hope this makes sense)
Oh, and that song was "FFVI With Beerics" from brentalfloss, lel.

The ending was really impressive. You really see the evolution of skill in tracks of this length. Very impressive job Shotoku.

Re: Smile
Those wells are very good but your quirking could use some work, and also the style and density where good as well, overall that was really good.
