The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
Hello there stranger and welcome to this awesome thread. Wait what? You're asking me why this thread is awesome?
Well first of all, it's made by me (I'm just awesome ) and second, it stores the most fantastic set of challenges you can imagine. The beauty of it is that if a certain type of challenge does not exist, you can just give me a shout and I'll make it (on the condition that it's awesome enough to be added to the list).
Now for the actual challenges there are a couple basic, but important rules you should follow;
- Read the challenge specific rules and be sure to follow them to make a valid entry.
- When submitting an entry, be sure to submit a .sol that works in beta 2 revision 6.2
- Do NOT download a .sol with the intention to alter bits and then claim it as your own. This WILL be punished.
- In every challenge Bosh has to stay onsled (Although there may be an exception which then will be a specific rule)
Keep that in mind as you scroll down and look through the list of challenges and you'll be having tons of fun completing and competing with the other participants.
Line Rider Sports
Will update later with Line Rider Olympic Challenges and more stuff like that. I'm taking a break now.
Obstacle Courses
a.k.a. "mazes"
a.k.a. "mazes"
This type of Challenge is special, as it is the same concept every challenge, but as you can imagine there are a lot of Obstacle Courses possible. Your goal in this type of challenge is to get from point A (the start) to point B (most of the time a square/box made of scenery lines) as quickly as possible (with sometimes a set of special rules you should take note of). The time will be checked manually by me with one of Mhenr's hacks which has a build in timer.
Further more, it is possible for you to make your own Obstacle Course and PM the .sol with the specific rules of your Obstacle Course to me and I'll add it in the "other category". If you make enough awesome Obstacle Courses I'll give you your own spot in the list like I did for myself (because I'm awesome ) and for Lukking.
MrZNF's Mazes:
- non yet
Lukking's Mazes:
XY Chaos >click for .sol<
Rules:
- Except for stages 1 and 2 you are allowed to use red lines (so stages 1 and 2 in all blue)
- The numbers at stage 3 subtract time (-2/-5) from your total time.
- You are NOT allowed to move the starting position.
Fastest Time = ??.?? by ???
Other Mazes:
- non yet
Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
This is not yet done, needs a lot of updating, just so you know.
And I'm just claiming the second post for the future, because this might get really big, hopefully.
Any comments, feedback, etc is welcome.

Lukking wanted too, but I figured at some point it will just get confusing on who is doing what. It's easier to have one person handling one thread. It would be nice if you nagged to mhenr for me about a more specific timer (like 1.xx instead of just 1 second). I'm going to do that when I see him and maybe he'll read this. I would love him a lot
Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
whoa whoa whoa, he's not releasing that .sol for two weeks, remember? *edits*
Also, how about you call this thread something like "Line Rider Speed & Distance Challenges" since they all have to do with speed or distance.
Also, I have an old contest .sol made by joonas. You can only use blue XY lines and can move the start point less than one sled-width. (the finish is the wall on the right)
http://www.mediafire.com/?n0z2vlfimy3 (ClosedDo0r won)
EDIT: the movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7GlbpvjwQc (according to my watch, it's about 13 seconds)
EDIT: looks like Slyther_Demon made the .sol, lol.
Also, I will update/makeover this post after you lose interest and disappear
Also, tell mhenr that instead of a timer, it should be a tick counter (counts one every frame, so if it's running at 40fps it would be 40 in one second, if it's running at 13fps you get 13 in one second) - that's as exact as you can possibly get. (They have that on fantastic contraption now, if you press "t")

Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
I think the timer would be fine, as the timer slows down to if you toggle the slow-mo with m. But I have no idea how that stuff works, so we'll just have to ask mhenr what the best possible way is. And no worries, I won't dissapear here completely ever. On second thought, maybe when I get like a family I might leave ya guys, but that's like never
Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
You know how line rider moves in frames? Well a tick counter would count up 1 every frame. It's just like the time, but more exact.
Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
i just make the contest mazes and znf will put it in the thread. oh and znf,can u pls put that rule in the thread? >You are not allowed to use any parts of the example!<

But what, just as you said, if people don't have the same fps, then it is not the same for everyone right? =s
But I get your point, if I see mhenr I'll just ask for the best possible timing system and hope he will make it for us.

What do you mean? The completion you make that test the mazes you mean? Just don't post them, if someone tested them and knows they work it's okay. I already made a rule about not taking a .sol of an entry and making it your own. I will ban people for that most likely, or they must have a very good explanation. It's just plain stealing stuff
edit:
And o yeah, about the name thing. I like this better then what you suggested Rabid, is this not good in a way?
I'll be working on this thread today too btw, so bits and pieces will turn up at some point. Not now though, going to watch a movie or something
Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
Um, fps = frames per second. So i that is less the tick counter will go up slower. I'm not understanding why you're taking a while to grasp thisZ_N-Freak wrote:But what, just as you said, if people don't have the same fps, then it is not the same for everyone right? =srabid squirrel wrote:You know how line rider moves in frames? Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
yeah, I let this die on purpose. Not many people seemed intrested and the maze-died out quicker then I though, so yeah.
Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
oh okay, sorry for the bump then.

Re: The Ultimate Thread of Line Rider Challenges
I haz a contest idea, which was a contest but failed cuz it was made by me and had a stoopid thread name, and lots of problems:
anyway, the idea is you have a build box, in which you can draw in, and you need to make the rider go as far as possible, and where he lands you get a certain amounts of points for it.
Have fun.
