Flatsledding = Indictable Offence?
Hi guys,
No massive wall of text. Simply 'To what extent do you believe, with the modern styles of Line Rider out there, that flatsledding should be considered a failing in a track made by somebody who is not an absolute beginner'.
I just wonder whether it's still punishable by death. It was in my day (he says, sounding about 70)

No it's not anymore, at all.
Cephyric and Hedge made a track called "Quirkers Laboratory" which kind of destroyed the taboo on flatsledding and it's seen in loads of tracks now

Re: Flatsledding = Indictable Offence?
It depends upon whether it is used to aid or detract from a certain style of track.
Take Campester (1&2) for example. That was all about flatsledding.
It's fun when used well and with purpose.
Otherwise, the person who made the track will be dead within the hour.

Re: Flatsledding = Indictable Offence?
I would have thought this was a good step - permissible flatsledding

Good Flatsledding I like. Bad flatsledding I don't like. Good Flatsledding is well balanced and constant in it's pressure.

Re: Flatsledding = Indictable Offence?
it's only a fail if it's obviously sloppy or unsmooth, or it was a failed attempt at a manual they didn't bother to fix.
Re: Flatsledding = Indictable Offence?
So, Rabid, you're saying there's a clear obvious difference between 'deliberate' and 'oh well, screw manuals' flatsledding? That's interesting - probably true as well!

Fads go in cycles, flat sledding will be all the rage in like 2014.
My predictions are never wrong
KEVEDIT: Or at least moderately close.

Re: Flatsledding = Indictable Offence?
I guess it's kind of like this.
Man was made (this statement is debatable) in a world with only trees, rocks, and dirt surrounding him. Then, he struck two rocks together to create fire. And now we somehow live in a world filled with iPods, airplanes, and central heating systems. Why? Because society decided to move on from the barebones that they were given and create with them. And with that came an urge to discard the old, the unnecessary. People kept inventing new things and throwing away old things in distaste. That also means old ways of living. If you saw someone living underneath a rock in the city park, you'd scoff at them too for being behind the times.
How does this apply to line rider? Well, if you imagine blue, red, and green lines as dirt, rocks, and trees, and fire as the very first gravity well, it works. But yeah, even today, with all this fancy technology shiz, why do you think people still go to hike in some desolate mountain range? Cause they want to reconnect with their roots, or something, idk. But yeah, main point is that it's okay to reconnect with your roots, but if people around you have never actually discarded all their technology, they won't really understand you or your experiences. Or something.
Wow, that was somewhat convoluted.
Tl;dr No One Dreams Anyway (which featured a pretty damn extensive flatsledding part) is in consideration for going on the exceptional line rider movies playlist. Speaks for itself, no?

As long as it's done well, any trick is acceptable. Just that "done well" is very biased.
