Centrifugal XY (CF2)- Sheldon
Centrifugal XY
This is it guys. I am sorry to disappoint. Every time I open standalone I work on it for a minute, or give up completely. The project was just to big of an undertaking. I am now typing this completely uninspired. I may finish this one day, just no time soon. I apologize for the credits error. The rest said: Thanks to aspi33 for conversation, and advice on this track. Comments and reviews are greatly appreciated. Please don't say "Where is the style?" or "No style." I got caught up in glory, and ended up being lost in boredom. This has No Style.

Powerful. Dang, Sheldon!
The directional variety was great, and it was very dense and fast!
Had it been longer, a feature for sure!

Re: Centrifugal XY (CF2)- Sheldon
Honestly, I just say some bouncing around really fast with intense music. While I was watching, I thought "Would I rather watch this or Meerkat?" I answered Meerkat because it felt more enjoyable and actually watchable.
I say that and the following for a reason. You and some others have said before that you have fun by "pushing it to the limit with power." Look where you're at now... Completely uninspired and overwhelmed. It doesn't look like fun. I say that because I advise to to not focus on speed and stuff like that, like you obviously did in this track, and have REAL fun. The kind that makes you want to play the game, not feel like you do now.
Now I say all that not to say this track sucks, it's crazy indeed and powerful + speedy, but I say that so you'll do things which will lead to you continuing playing Line Rider. Kudos on the track May you become more inspired in the future and make more sweet tracks!

Well that was a track!
I was really hoping for a gangsta omni, but damn.... that XY was just.... I couldn't even tell you what just happened. Also, thanks @ the shoutout <3
Oh, and zoom in more on the recording next time

Hm, kinda what I expected.. Didn't flow together, just trying to make Bosh move as fast as possible. I did like 0:30 - 0:32 though, because that actually build up to something, but that's it.
You should make tracks more "from the heart" instead of trying to be impressive. Valance was a showoff of your skills, and Silhouette was a showoff of how you can other things than tricks. At least, that's the feeling I get when watching these tracks. This also looks like a showoff. Make whatever you want instead of what (you think) the audience wants.

What. This is really, really awesome. XY pushed to the max. Still, I'm a tad saddened that this is such a high standard to reach. Sheldon, I'd suggest you should finish this, but I'd agree with Raf that you should make more tracks from the heart.
I wish I had a scanner now

I find this really funny.
'Cuz this is my favorite track from you.
No joke.
Great ideas and all.
I would have died in joy had the omni come out, but I can feel your pain about that uninspiration bit.

This is why I no longer play line rider (much). I swear, the quality of a track is proportional to the criticism you get now days.
This was amazing. And that's that. Amazing.
This is one of those moments where I sit back and say to myself, "Wow, I can't make that, and I respect this person for the abilities he just displayed"
Look, I'm not trying to say skills are everything guys, but open your mind a little; he worked hard.
And I'm not trying to make Rafael look like a bad person, because he's not. In fact, you're all great people.
But the growing tensions between the two extremes of these types of conflicts is why I'm finding myself visiting these forums less and less. So what if the standard has changed? I do my own dabbling, and that makes me happy. My neighbor constructs a masterpiece, and that makes him happy.
Sorry if I come off as irritated, I don't mean to deviate the topic of sheldon's post. I'm just trying to be unbiased, and that's what I'm always trying to do.
As a side note, I wouldn't abbreviate this CF2, it might cause some confusion in any future discussion

Guys, I will be trying my best to make a longer version by Toc3. I can't promise anything though.
Re: Centrifugal XY (CF2)- Sheldon
Yeah I understand some people are amazed by this. I don't want to brag, but I CAN make this. Therefore I am not amazed by the speed and pace of this track. For me, it's the execution of the tricks and the flow that make skillful tracks stand out, and not the complexity of the tricks.WTB wrote:This is those moments where I sit back and say to myself, "Wow, I can't make that, and I respect this person for the abilities he just displayed"

It gave me chills. So intense, so many powerful movements. I'm stunned by your skills.

Everytime I watch one of your tracks I think: "Damnit, he's has skills like a line god, now he just has to learn how to use them."
The way you speed bosh is insane! It looks like a hax version of line rider. I have no clue how you do that
But man, I really dislike this track maybe it's also the zoom level and the music. There are no chill moments in this track for me. It almost hurts my eyes watching this speed. This track is like watching the film Crank on 4 screens at the same time

This thread reminds me of The River, except it's a lot of people instead of basically just me.

This track reminds me of a geode. The gems are there, you just have to dig a little deeper to find them. I adored this track, sheldon. I liked all the fast rotations and variations of tricks. The epic factor was there. I enjoyed it

I think that it was a really interesting start. Its a shame you didn't get to finish, but what you had was really impressive!

To be honest, I feel like I was the guy who drove Hedge from Line Rider and I'm still trying to figure out why I reacted to that track the way I did. I think about it a lot. So this thread just reminded me of it. Not saying you can really compare these tracks, they're very different.Rafael wrote:I am not amazed by the speed and pace of this track. Re: Centrifugal XY (CF2)- Sheldon
^ You're not. I just got pretty bored and uninspired. When both of those things kick at once, it's hard to keep it up.
I can understand why Raf is reacting the way he is to this, and, IMO, he's really the one pulling most of the negative comments. If you can follow each individual trick, you can see that most of the stuff done here isn't actually that impressive. Yes, it does require a huge amount of technical achievement to be able to do, but a lot of it doesn't feel like it's really reaching for anything besides speed. In the River, I wasn't even going for speed very much, besides just having it be fairly consistent. I was trying to approach the same thing other people were doing from a different angle.
However, that being said, I think some of the criticism of this are way too intense, to counter others going like "OMG WTF BEST TRACK EVER!!!1!"
This IS an amazing track. If you played it at half speed, most of the complaints of it not really being that good would go away. Fast-paced things just seem to spawn hate comments out of nowhere, not because of jealousy, but because of mob mentality resulting from the sense of reaching for the opinions of others when not being able to follow what's really happening. A lot of these people go to those who dislike it for specifically stated reasons, simply because they see those people and think "Well, if they can see flaws in it, they must be knowledgeable and therefore reputable, since I couldn't see much of anything!"
Now, time to clean up some criticisms from haters that I can see responding to this.
- I am NOT at all saying that Rafael is incorrect, or that he is not a reputable source of information. I am saying that, as someone who has also done this, it's very easy for people like Rafael to look at a few complimenting-overkill comments and go for the polar opposite position to try to get some of those others to understand that the truth is a little bit in the middle.
As a matter of fact, I very much respect Raf, and his opinion of this track, and his skill, finesse, and leadership as a trackmaker in general.
- I am NOT saying that this is a bad track, or the best track of all time. I am saying that this is a good track, and in fact worthy of comparison to some tracks made by other greats of Line Rider, any way you look at it, except possibly from the point of viewpoint of "I can't appreciate it because I can't follow it". Any argument you make against that being so, I could easily counter by pointing out various examples in this track. In my own, personal opinion, the flow, power, trick variety, and basically everything else is great.
- I am NOT saying that this post is the be-all and end-all of discussion. I'd be very interested in hearing other viewpoints, assuming that you have actually watched the track in detail, instead of just quickly going through once so you can cast your vote into the great pit of Line Rider politics.
tl;dr: read the bolded parts.
