No progress for about a month now. We're still waiting for TB.

He said "would you like to have IRTL on the old version of vB" I asked him if I could see the site, he showed me it, there were a bunch of errors all over everything, I asked why, he said "I'm working on it"

Honestly, I don't/didn't care if it's some sort of pirated copy since they won't let you purchase an old version and we don't want the new version, but it does need to all work, and we do need to be able to install hax. I told him that, and I also said that I'd need access to the hosting CP.

Haven't heard from him in over a week but the site he showed me now has no errors. He hasn't made me an admin yet or given me hosting CP access or installed hax, and the version of vB has changed and no longer looks like IRTL, but it does look significantly closer than the phpBB site, especially with the skin being complete and all, but there are many, many hax missing and I doubt he can install them.

Long story short, I was open to his ideas but I doubt I'll end up letting him host it.

I'm willing to do everything except the skin and hax (and I'm willing to learn how to install hax if someone wants to point me in some direction or other), so I'm just waiting for a site in which we have those things, otherwise we're better off here.

I think it's kind of silly that you told me you would have the site done in no time, and now you're blaming it not being done on TB because he isn't helping you.

I'm not blaming it on him, he told me that it was going to be hosted by him and everything now, so I basically just stopped as why keep going if what he said was true.

Also he doesn't have a hosting cp because he uses his own computer as a server.

.....and actually if you do purchase vBulletin you can still download the old version that TD had the site running on, a friend of mine is selling his license for $100 which is a great deal tbh, as a new license costs around $200-$400.

So I take it that we'll either be going with xenForo or VB3? Do you guys just wanna give the link out for the phpBB site? Everything works, just not everything is skinned.

Why would we give out the link to a site that won't even be used if Rabid does use TB's home server and pirated vB?

Also it doesn't matter if you do give the link out the username and password will still be up so nobody would be able to see.

Well it'll take a while to set vB up if TB's doing it all by himself. We might as well give this link out for the people complaining abou the site. Kinda just to give them an idea of what to expect on vB. Idk I'm just throwing some ideas out there. Do what you guys want. Just tell me if you want help with vB cuz I've pirated that a few times

They already know what to expect on vB, also pirating something a few times doesn't really mean anything.

Yeah we'll go with your server if anything, and I guess I didn't know you could still get an old version. Let's just go with phpBB, I don't want to buy a vB license. Well seeing as how we've completely redesigned the site it's gonna be harder to install certain "hax". All MODS (hax) are made to work with the original skin, prosilver2 (I think it's that one). The MODS place code based on where there is existing code. For instance, if there is a line: <a href="http://www.google.com/">THIS IS A TEST LINK</a>, the MOD might tell AutoMOD (the program used to install them) to place a line: <font color="blue">BLAH</font>, before or after the first line. So AutoMOD searches for the line, and inputs code wherever the MOD tells it to. Since we've changed a lot of the original skin, we'll have to make those changes ourselves. You'll need to know HTML and be able to read. If you want more help I'll be on MSN today. (It's 1:48 AM Friday )

Well IDK yet. I'm waiting for rabids choice if we're going to let you guys use the unfinished phpBB one or if we're still waiting for TB to finish it.

Ah I see. that's mildly annoying. So we just read the autoMOD instructions and then do them ourselves? where exactly do we edit the html?

I've been a bit busy this week but I'll try to hang out on MSN this coming week, we'll find a time when we're both online and we can talk and I can learn

On AutoMOD it'll tell you what you have to edit and once you know:
ACP > Styles > Templates (on the side panel) > WRtL > Pick what you want to edit > Hit go > Edit and click Submit.

I'm way to busy with other sites this weekend and I'm in Michigan right now. I should be free all week next week though. I fly back to Florida Monday morning and I'll be ready to help then. I'll make sure to be on MSN all week so just message me when you can.
