Re: York
Back!
Oh wow, my first time in England... and I loved it
I left Wednesday with a bus to Europoort, Rotterdam. When we arrived I had to check in and we could begin to unpack our stuff in the ferry Pride of Hull of P&O Ferries. It was enormous. I guess you have seen much bigger cruiseships but I didn't, so it was a whole experience for me
We arrived at the evening, so we had to eat and that was cool. I ate chips and ... fish (lol not fish and chips ). I think I'm going into detail too much
I only slept for about 30 min. The next day we went to York (by bus) and visited a lot of interesting buildings. I totally wasn't interested in the history, because I didn't understand the half of it
Evening, back to the boat. So I ate and went to bed. It was a lovely day, the most impressive thing was the York Minster.
I did notice some differences with The Netherlands:
1. The sky is gray (even though we had LOVELY weather) It's often light blue in The Netherlands.
2. The plants are different (like brown at the outside areas of York, I've never seen that ).
3. The way the city is built. It goes up and down, it's not flat like in The Netherlands. The countrysides are going like up and down too, I think it's hard for the tractors to drive there
4. It was much colder.
I visited:
1. York Minster
IT IS SO HUGE
2. Roman Baths
We had to march and I didn't like it. We also had to say ''right, left'' in Latin, don't even know how I pronounced it
3. The Jorvik Viking Centre
Oh lol, it's like Droomvlucht (Dream flight in English) in The Efteling. You step into a flying cart and you just fly in the scenery, I like that. The voices were annoying though.
4. Shambles
Very cool, I think you can touch someone at the other side of the street.
5. Barley Hall
Not very impressive, still cool.
Well, that was pretty much it. We had a few hours of spare time to eat and do interviews! I didn't want to interview somebody because I thought I was too shy. The first time is really hard, I was a bit of shaking The next tries went better. I interviewed someone who came from Nothingham, I thought that was really cool. On my question ''What do you like the most about York?'' I kept getting ''History'' >.<
Conclusion: York is strange but beautiful. Also, I thought the accent which was spoken there was funny. Maybe it's because I'm Dutch
P.S.: I didn't see you Wolf
EDIT: Now I see I put way too much smileys in this post. Ah well....

Re: York
Sorry Podpack/Helios! It was during school houurs I presume so I couldn't go ;-;
Also, I'm glad you enjoyed it there but the Jorvik place always has a freaking huge queue of about 50 people, I really don't understand why
And yes, England is so cold O.o And the brown plants were probably bracken and what sort of plants do you have?

Re: York
I only bought something in the Jorvik Viking Centre shop, and I bought a cat in the boat's shop.
@w_s: You mean like in The Netherlands?
Also, someone broke my glasses last Tuesday. I'm glad it got repaired Wednesday morning.
EDIT: Not a living cat, of course.
