Contest of the Month!
Yes, that's right, we're making a contest of the month.
I know what you're thinking. "There's no way that this is gonna last for very long because the staff is lazy"
And you're RIGHT! Sooo, we're going to make this, let's say, a collaboration between regular members and the staff.
Here's how it will work:
1. In this thread, you guys all tell us your ideas for the first contest of the month, which will end up being kinda-November-and-December
2. We have a poll starting on November 13th to decide which contest idea is best
3. The contest will start sometime after the 20th. It will end on the 31st of December.
4. A new contest idea poll will be created sometime around Christmas, and we'll start the next contest in January.
Who will run the contest?
- First, we will ask the person who had the idea. Second, we will ask for any volunteers. If nobody is willing to, then we staff members will run it. I'll probably check in, make sure everything is clear, bump the thread now and again, but I won't run it all myself unless nobody else wants to.
How do we know people won't just enter something they've already been working on?
- When the contest starts, people will be given a .sol that will have only a symbol in scenery, which participants will use to start their track. (similar to Epic Battles) Someone not entering the contest will draw the symbol (may be the contest's creator, but if they want to enter it themself it could be me or someone else who wants to)
----------
if you have any questions, or there is anything you don't like about this contest system, please speak up.
Also,
POST YOUR CONTEST IDEAS IN THIS THREAD!
Be happy 8-D

Re: Contest of the Month!
I have some general idea concepts that aren't actual ideas yet, maybe you guys have some ideas on how we can develop these...
1. Mazes are always fun, anyone have a good idea for something mazey and original?
2. Having a limited amount of space to launch Bosh as far or high as possible or some variation off of this?
3. Some sort of small scenery contest would be cool I think...
Also, from the sticky in the contests section, some pointers for a good contest I think we should keep in mind:
EDIT: oh, I should mention that you're still free to make your own contests as well.

lol irony at post above me...Contest Tips:
- Make your contest creative and new - nobody wants to enter a "best manual track" contest.
- Make it somewhat easy to enter. An "all upwards blue Y axis contest" will likely not get many entries. (lol FC)
- Don't make it too big of a task. A requirement of over 12,000 scenery lines is a bad idea.
EDIT: oh, I should mention that you're still free to make your own contests as well.
Re: Contest of the Month!
the flow killer that gets bosh under 1 frame. create a track that is at 9 frames or something then you are allowed flow killing for a specific time. The one that flow killed the fastest wins. (meh im stupid)

Can I run my propel contest again? Ive been working on a new course, and the old one was going quite well till some stuff happened meaning it couldnt continue.

Make the most interesting manual you can make
(He has to touch every curve no green lines every line must be connected, kind of like tapeworm but different).

Re: Contest of the Month!
Okay so
Misleading Green Lines Contest
1. Make a track. Can be anything you want, from 30-60 seconds
2. On the track, draw lots of green lines that look like they could affect Bosh in some way if they were blue. Should preferably be used in a clever way, like adding green lines in the shape of a fling, at a place where Bosh's nose "touches" the first green line and you totally expect him to be flinged upward.
3. Post the finished track with the green lines (and optionally, colored playback with the green lines) in a video.
T'was my best attempt at thinking of something clever. I think I failed.

AN ALL-STYLE Contest!
]The track must contain all the styles (Manuals, Flatsledding, Quirk, XY, Scenery) and all the section must at least last for 10 seconds.
Sounds fun, and its even. The guy who makes the best track, wins!
Direct Info:
- Manuals 10 Seconds)
- Quirk 10 Seconds)
- Flatsledding 10 Seconds)
- XY 10 Seconds)
- Scenery 10 Seconds)
Calculating = 50 Seconds

Re: Contest of the Month!
That's an omni minus alt quirk replaced with scenery. I'm thinking something more original. Omni-collab contest is a classic, but I'm thinking more in teams of 3-5.
Then again there's the pre-drawn track idea. Where on certain points there's a flag/point at which Bosh must cross. Jonas did it here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29Z38jazjJc. It'd have to be more difficult though. Maybe something like an entire manual they must use, or a fling in which a few wells have to be used. Idk how to explain it. I could draw it up and show you

define "old school"
and btw, I was thinking along the lines of another "track in a shape" contest, those are always fun.

Has anyone actually done a large circle for the track in a shape contest? I don't remember there being one.

Pretty sure this has been done before, but I don't see a problem with reusing an old idea.

Re: Contest of the Month!
Maze contest with a twist, there's a net of lines. Giving different paths towards the goal, they split up and unite. The goal of the contest is to always touch the line while you get to the goal. As in the regular maze contest, the one with the shortest time wins.
Tl;dr: The contest is like maze, but instead of not touching the wall, you need to always touch the line(s).
You get what I'm saying?

Worst Track Contest
1. Make a ****ty track
2. ???
3. Vote which one is the ****tiest
Rules:
1. Must be at least 30 seconds long (so nobody makes a track with Bosh falling on his face one line and says "lulululu this is so bad")
2. Must have at least 250 non-green lines (so nobody makes a track with Bosh falling on his face one line and says "lulululu this is so bad")
Edit: ...And then I saw GhostY's post. Oh well

Re: Contest of the Month!
alrighty, I've had this idea for a while (few years actually)
what if there was a box made with only blue lines (sol provided so it is equal), and you made a track inside, but it has to end at one point out of the box.
this is kinda what i mean https://2img.net/h/i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd47/CamQuartr/Screenshot2010-11-06at92528PM.png
it may end anywhere out of the box.
