People does not get Elite because this community isn't enlarging.

Which is why we need to advertise on other sites, preferably .com. Unfortunately, .com already has a forum, which we are in direct competition with.

In short this site is screwed in terms of publicity now that we don't have TD backing us.

Unless one of the staff is in communication with TD and TD is still working with InXile, our user base probably won't increase at all.

And that's really not the point. Afaik, elite is impossible to get at this point. It shouldn't be.

Ok, this is the LAST TIME I EXPLIAN. I'm sick and tired of repeating this.

1. Power riders for some reason, saw themselves as better than the elites, in a sense that there were more of them and the elites, in there eyes, weren't as active and we all older members. This got to the point where powers wanted to stay power because they didn't want to be elite because they "liked power rider better"

2. The people we decided were worthy of power rider status often took it to heart that they were better than the grey members, not being mature enough to take the status with grace.

3. The powers always complained about other powers being promoted to elite, and when they got demoted for power rider, and people became whiny when they thought they deserved power, mostly because the people who were power or were close to power just weren't mature.

So we decided to get rid of the rank. I was the one who originally suggested it, because people were telling me that it was too hard to get elite and they would just give up. I realize now that that's a blessing and not a curse. We only want mature colored members who care more about the community than their color, not people whose only goal is to become colored.

The only bad thing that's happened after getting rid of the power rank is that people keep whining for it back. Other than that, everything is much nicer. Far fewer grey members are rabid (no pun intended) about getting promoted because they know elite is very far off, and elites are mature enough to decide who else should be elite, and life simply goes on. With power riders we spent more time discussing who deserved power rider than anything else on the site, literally.

Dunno if I was that inactive that I've missed all those arguments. However, thanks for the explanation!
