A tail fling: Cause and effect

When doing a quirk sometimes Bosh crashes. Let's take an example:

I'm doing a backwards nose manual, and want to continue with a tail fling. I made one, but Bosh crashes.

My question: is it because of the:

- angle of the line
- height of the line
- length of the line

And, when he crashes does the quirk affect (what part of his body gets affect by the quirk. Ex.: nose fling is nose, tail fling is tail, etc.) the:

- tail
- shoulder
- both

Tail flings are hard. It could be the angle, the size, or the placement, and it often affects his butt, his tail, his shoulder, or a combination.

In any case, don't think you can just say "oh, I'll make a tail fling here" and then it'll happen. It's a lot of work. (I've made *counts* ...three in the time I've been playing line rider) The first five lines are the hardest.
