I'm really good at putting myself into a tight spot. Not necessary as good at getting out of it.pure5152 wrote:just making sure our collab's still alive xpChui Ninji wrote:I promise I will eventually participate in pretty much everything that's within my abilities, but for now, I need to get my next solo on the road, stop raging at collab w/ pure, work on TC track, and then get my academics sorted. ^lolol
I'm starting a 3 minute solo project. The only obstacle I think I'm facing is if my comp can handle it. Also the track length or number of lines isn't going to be the goal of this at all, but the end production. This is gonna be fun.

I'm still kinda looking for someone to join me in making a 5 minute track syncing to the Black Parade.

I'm planning stuff which I'll never finish.
You should look forward to it.

Re: Activity in the LCC section!
^ha, you really got in for a one hit wonder. (As did I though. )
This reminds me of some thoughts I had concerning the LCC.
BOO'S LCC REFORM PLAN:
What the lcc should be like, in my head (organization and guidelines)
When it comes to recruiting people in the lcc - Not so exclusive-to-moderately exclusive.
Now when it comes to the actual PROJECTS in the LCC, I think we should be the exlusiveness should fluctuate, based on how serious the project is. And by this I mean:
---
And that's pretty much it. I know this sounds really serious and I completely understand why people would oppose these ideas, but I think if we did stuff (like nomination and project organizing) according to the ideas above then we could increase track production and settle the whole "How exclusive should the LCC be?" issue.
Comments?
EDIT: The whole reason I took the time and did this is because I think the LCC has the potential to make alot more tracks than it does. We just need some organization to make this happen! I strongly believe that the LCC is here for promoted track production, not for the rank & black name/status symbol. However, I do think the status symbol successfully gives non lcc members something to strive for.
EDIT 2: Convo on msn with hedge about this:
Owen Greenberg says
I agree about being exclusive for actual projects. I think the project leader should have some idea what they're talking about and be able to accept or decline anyone at their whim. That being said, I don't think declining actual parts once they're made is the best idea.
Sean Reynolds says
yea i agree with the last part, thats not what i was meaning
like
Owen Greenberg says
I don't think we should fire people from the LCC for being inactive, though. Everyone's inactive.
Sean Reynolds says
people should have the knowledge to decide if they are good enough for certain projects
Owen Greenberg says
Right on
Sean Reynolds says
then what's the use of having lcc?
if everyone's inactive
what are they really going to lose if they get demoted for being inactive? self esteem?
they can get it back if they are good enough
and by good enough i mean just decent
Owen Greenberg says
I just don't think scaring people into participating is the best course
Sean Reynolds says
activity is the main thing here
Owen Greenberg says
If they're forum-inactive, sure
If they just don't participate in projects, give them a chance. They might just be waiting for one they like.
Sean Reynolds says
exactly
i think that with the less-exclusiveness of promotion, there would be more members in the lcc right?
Then we should have alot more projects going instead of like 2 or 3 like it's always been
offering diversity for people to participate in
Owen Greenberg says
I'm also not sure about just having more projects, haha. From experience, the more projects going on, the less actually get done
Sean Reynolds says
well then we just need people that will nudge others to do work on stuff
i really dont think that having 1 person working on a project at a time is too much to ask for.
Owen Greenberg says
I agree, but I think we'd get further by providing incentive instead of asking
Inspirational incentive, not like awards and [censored]
As in, make 'em want to get their ideas down in LCC projects instead of personal projects
I don't know how, but it doesn't seem too far-fetched
Sean Reynolds says
so encourage people to start projects with their awesome ideas in mind?
Owen Greenberg says
Why start projects? Surely most ideas aren't extreme enough to need their own project
Sean Reynolds says
all of mine have been so far
i think i've started like 3 projects
Owen Greenberg says
That's because you're a crazy hippy
Sean Reynolds says
haha

BOO'S LCC REFORM PLAN:
What the lcc should be like, in my head (organization and guidelines)
When it comes to recruiting people in the lcc - Not so exclusive-to-moderately exclusive.
- As long as they have medium-high knowledge & or skill, they are welcome here. (nomination & promotion)
- However, to stay in here, they need to be participating in some projects. (I don't think the rate of solo tracks they release should be a factor. Yes it does show where their skill level is, but if you are promoted in the first place it's kind of hard to get so bad that you aren't good enough to be lcc anymore )
Now when it comes to the actual PROJECTS in the LCC, I think we should be the exlusiveness should fluctuate, based on how serious the project is. And by this I mean:
- Usually people are promoted because of certain styles that they excel in. Agreed? So for example: If there is a serious XY project (seriousness determined by whoever organizes the project. BTW I'm not hinting at my xy project with this, it's just an example. ), then maybe people who were promoted for lets say, scenery, probably shouldn't participate in that project? You know, Unless they are really good at XY as well, then that would be an acceptable exception.
One real example of this is EoLR. Rabid was so serious about this that even one of aspi's parts didn't make the cut! - However, If the project organizer says up front that it isn't so serious, and there is no exclusive skill level set in order to make a part in the project, then as a result the project wouldn't be so exclusive.
A real example for this would be the "Do anything as long as it doesn't look nubbish" project. I'm pretty sure this is a more fun-oriented project and kram was just trying to get people to participate in it.

Re: Activity in the LCC section!
Idea: We could have an inter-LCC omni collab (liek this) of 2 or 3 person collabs, all released under "LCC" with different participants. Orrr, we could edit all of the tracks together and make a MEGA TRACK. /appropriate dramatic background noises

I would totally make a part in that. Go make a thread for it!

Re: Activity in the LCC section!
:/ Gusy, I'm kind of uninspired lately and some of the drama in the forum is only making it worse/more frustrating. The reason why I'm saying this is because I think I'm going to maybe take a little break, but I want all of these projects that I've started to stay active in my smaller amount of activity. So I'll try to keep them going, but if you notice that I haven't been posting, try to help me out by making sure people are making parts, kay?

Re: Activity in the LCC section!
so anyway, I was also taking a bit of a break from linerider (probably the longest break since I started). Anyway, I decided to mess around with linerider again today and ended up with something that looks really cool. so how does a classic SCG style quirk except with a lot more fling recycling in it for a comeback track sound)

Great, now I can give my opinion
Looks very cool. Didn't know you could do this stuff. Try to keep it varied though. It's too consistent as for now.

Re: Activity in the LCC section!
Anyone else suddenly feel inspired by Kramwood's track?
I'm gonna go work on mine (well I have like 3 on the go now)
I have a collab, a scenery and a music-synced one with scenery. I'm gonna work on the music synced one ^^
