Blip progress thread - SCG
I decided to give myself a bit of extra motivation to keep working on this project by creating a prieview thread. The plan for this track is to sync it to a 4:30 song using as many different styles as I can think of combined with 'scenery' that is meant to fit with that style and make bosh's interactions with the lines completely unpredictable depending on the style I'm working at the time.
Also, There will be animation in this track.
Here's some screenshots of what I have completed so far.

Dude this is a pretty legit concept, I attempted the same thing but with only lines that affect bosh, it gets to be a cluster real quick..

Huh, extra-specific Rek style. Neat.

I don't know if they're too similar. Both were very misdirectional with their green line use, but the feel of this seems like it'll be really different.
Plus this isn't the first time I've seen misdirectional green tracks being compared to Rek, and it's a little off-putting when you're on the other side of it.
Either way, it looks really cool. Can't wait to see what you do with this.

Eh, it's the first thing I thought of. Not a blanket judgement on the track. Perhaps it's inaccurate.

Thanks, Rek is a bit of an inspiration for this track, though it does have a very different feel to it, so far at least.

I have some ideas for what I want to do for that, at least for the slower manual section, though I'm not sure how it will turn out.

Ya, it has quite a different feel than Rek. Think of the track as being perfectly camouflaged to the background scenery which in the end it forces you to focus more on the movement of Bosh and less on what tricks I happen to be doing.
Actually, I consider it a compliment to be compared to Rek as it happens to be one of my all time favorite tracks.
Thanks.

Will the movement be clear and visible in a cloud of lines that all look the same?SethComposerGuy wrote:Think of the track as being perfectly camouflaged to the background scenery which in the end it forces you to focus more on the movement of Bosh and less on what tricks I happen to be doing.

I would say yes, at least for the first couple sections, since it starts off slower and very flippy and slowly builds in intensity until I break out to some mid-hi speed stuff where the scenery lines will take on a different feeling though I'm not too sure about what I want to do with it yet. That said, the last section I did complete is bit more intense making it harder to see what's going on with the scenery, but (I can't speak for everyone) I think it looks really cool in action.

Next section is finally complete. Check it out.
For next section the track opens up a lot to incorporate some mid-high speed.

Re: Blip progress thread - SCG
With how little activity there is and how few tracks been released these days, not sure it's worth it for me to make this in to a full song length track. I may just go until I start to get sick of working on it and find a good ending spot.
Anyway, here's another pic of my progress.
