A huge pre-Omniverse project by Conundrumer, abandoned around the release of Omniverse (May 2007). Re-recorded from the .sol from the man himself, and uploaded with the originally planned editing and music. Enjoy.

Watching this track 9 years later, in its executed form, gives me a strange feeling.
The scenery is inspired by how I was (and still am) obsessed with large scale structures of the natural world (I need to visit Iceland).
It also reflects what got me into Line Rider: Creating a world for the guy to travel and explore. I think this is the case for many others, as well.
We have a lot to learn from old scenery tracks.
Thanks for recording/editing this, Rabid.
Fun fact: I started Omniverse as a stress relief track because of how ambitious The World was.

The playback of this track felt kind of choppy, and i replayed certain parts a few times to make sure it wasn't my AMD FX 8350 8x cpu or Radeon R9 280x graphics card lagging a youtube video. Is this a symptom of just how lrjs is? I know when I play it on windows in firefox the framerate is very far from perfect. I would have thought the recording tool would have fixed it but maybe rabid didnt use it on this one. shrug. maybe it's a firefox thing or maybe it's because i have a lot of tabs open. ~15. Or maybe my computer just sucks. But I can run 30-40 fps on almost completely max graphics GTAV so I don't think that's it.Conundrumer wrote:Watching this track 9 years later, in its executed form, gives me a strange feeling.

I like this track, i really liked the small quirk bits inside the big clouds. It's really hard to scene quirk imo.
Also, yes, go to iceland. I've been and it's fantastic.

RE: recording
It's strange, because the frames are all there if you scrub frame by frame, but playback is choppy in the video conun helped me stitch together with ffmpeg from the webm LRJS export. The choppiness persisted after export and then persisted after upload to youtube but I was sure it was just my computer.
The video sections run at 70-90% speed to sync with the music, so maybe that's what you're seeing.

I think this might have to do with the fact that conun outputs videos in 40fps, which is a rather unusual framerate. If you try to convert 40fps to something like 30fps or 60fps, you'll get a fairly high proportion of frames that need to be dropped or played twice or whatever and that makes things less smooth. Then combined with the fact that you're slowing the overall playback down to sync with the music, the effect could become more pronounced.rabid squirrel wrote:RE: recording

Just a guess.

This track is really unique, and the weird blend of track and scenery is really distinctive.
Great watch, took me back.

The command I gave you converted to 60fps. I forgot that this would adversely affect change in playback rate (playback is slowed it down). I should have left out the 60fps flag.

Re: The World ~Conundrumer (unfinished)
katie's reaction to this track:
she likes how he "interacts with the environment" and "you get to watch bosh on a journey"
Believe it or not I did not prompt her about anything at all, just showed her the track and asked what she thought.

Katie wrote:often times scenery tracks just have scenery there and not that that's bad but there's no story so it's just pretty art. It's more interesting when you create a world and then send Bosh through it
