Supersonic Motion
It started as an experimental all gwell track for the Freestyle contest, but became something much bigger! My entry and also my battle track against Kramwood. Enjoy!
Additional inspirations: IGGB, Conun

nice track
little nit-picky, but the rotation could have been more fluid in both halves of the track

Okay, first reactions I posted in the livestream chat
4:42 PM shotoku mod: OH MY GOAT
4:43 PM shotoku mod: RAF
4:43 PM shotoku mod: I think I loved that more than anything released in the last year
4:45 PM RafaelLR: that's good to hear, thanks!
4:45 PM shotoku mod: I was driving when you posted it, once I got home and saw I got a text from WRTL for a new track, I was like, okay whatever
4:45 PM shotoku mod: then I read the thread title that it linked to and rushed to my laptop as fast as possible
4:46 PM RafaelLR: hahaha
First thing, I'm really honored to have inspired you to make a this. I haven't had this much of a positive reaction to a track for a long time. The fact that it was zoomed in close was a really good choice on your part, something I thought would deter from a high speed track. However, it really made the track feel like something special, rather than just an extraordinarily good high speed. Your focus on position, rather than direction, really makes this stand out. I was kind of put off by the long drop in the middle, but to be honest I like that better than some sort of pinch, and it was great to go with the music and build up tension before the drop track really got serious. I have a feeling this is going to be a great year for tracks, even just going off of the first month of the year haha. It's going to be hard for anyone (in either battle this is for) to top, even Kramwood (although I am just as excited to see him try!) I just don't feel like I can say enough words to get out how fantastic I thought this was.
Keep riding those lines!

Re: Supersonic Motion
Track came full circle, great from beginning to end, buildup was insane, the ending was so cool. I love this track and you for making it! Inspiring stuff.
Re: Supersonic Motion
I am thoroughly satisfied with this track. That pay off right after the climax was just perfect.

DAMMMMNNN SUPER INSPIRED.

Re: Supersonic Motion
That track was better than the sandwich that I'm eating, and this is a bomb ass sandwich. The synced buildup got me so hyped. And then there was so much speed that I barely even knew what was going on. You did an awesome job maintaining the volume of wells/tricks throughout. Dat ending.

I honestly can't really express how impressive this is to someone who has never gone over 50p/f. It's pretty amazing how you kept the speed going so fast that whole time without a moments break. You have inspired so many people with your tracks and I know that this one has already inspired many people since you posted it only a few hours ago.

Re: Supersonic Motion
that drop was sick yea I think this should be a thing
I really enjoyed watching this. I think I watched this at least three times already, and one time at half speed. The moment at 2:39 was crazy!
The distinction between ordinary highspeed and hyperspeed is interesting. With hyperspeed, the physics actually imposes a constraint of making it difficult to change direction. It also makes it seem like the lines are bending and twisting around Bosh instead of Bosh riding the lines at ludicrous speed. The nature of this kind of animation fails to represent this speed in a way our eyes could comprehend, and we see the lines smashing Bosh around instead. I want to see more like this (:

I agree that the zoom was a really good choice, since it emphasized the play with the pose, rotation, and pressure/force. I'm trying to compare it to a dance but I can't think of a dance that has this kind of play with constant force.Shotoku wrote:The fact that it was zoomed in close was a really good choice on your part, something I thought would deter from a high speed track. Re: Supersonic Motion
Holy hell man, that was incredible.
Obviously the latter part of the track is the more impressive bit, but I really enjoyed those little "switch-ups" in the first half. I'm talking about 0:55 and 1:22, where you kind of deny a rotation. It looked neat.
I don't have much to say about the hyperspeed part, since it really speaks for itself. The build up had me grinning like an idiot; I loved those syncs. Also, I liked the green lines during those tumbles and the ending. My only complaint is that I wanted to see more of those At high speed they looked really neat, almost having an animation.

I'm with Inu on this one. There's so many cool stuff that I could almost see, and still looked cool as hell, but didn't quite understand what exactly happened during that area of track. That being said, that was the sexiest freefall I have ever seen, and the space recycling towards the very beginning of the hyper speed section did not go unnoticed. Super cool dude.

Re: Supersonic Motion
The intro I feel like you kept this track at a perfect speed at which you can still put a lot of intensity in the tricks. I don't know what is so impressive about this track or what it makes it so different from Hybrid Eclipse, but everything you did you did well and it just worked! I was kind of lost for words when I saw it for the first time. Definitely my favourite highspeed track of all time.

Re: Supersonic Motion
Let me just start by saying that although we are known for having long ass unwatchable intros.. This was the weakest one you've ever done. Like for real though.
And I wasn't very impressed with the all gravity quirk. But after that humongous drop when shit got real turnt up, it blew my mind. Only thing that this was lacking (and this is just me personally) for a raf highspeed was MOAR MANUALS! What you did with the rolling and highspeed quirks was crazy but you really shine when you have at least more sustained manuals my dude. I know this review seems cynical and there isn't much complimenting so I just want to make it clear that straight up 100 100 I don't even need to let you know how good the amazing parts were cuz you already know. Great job
Oh and this track is technically better by far, but comparing the two tracks by the whole, I still prefer the original sonic motion. More epic wow factor I guess.
Thanks for the shoutouts in inspiration and end credits! I'm always gonna push you to do better!
EDIT: Actually, I change my mind about the all gravity part. Forgive me, it's 6 in the morning and it took me a few more watches to really feel it. Perfect track! Know you can do better though still

I'm glad you're so fond of it! The close zoom was definitely one of the experimental aspects in this track, I've actually considered zooming in much more The idea was inspired by the all gwell parts in Blue Champion. When watching that I always get in some sort of trance, and I think the ability to induce a trance is what makes all gwell tracks so unique.Shotoku wrote:Okay, first reactions I posted in the livestream chat

You're so good at putting ideas into words I completely agree with you on the hyperspeed part. Such speeds help generating the "trance" effect described above. Also, hyperspeed makes visual effects possible! Thanks for the words.Conundrumer wrote:that drop was sick yea I think this should be a thing

Somehow I expected you to not be too fond of it (at least, at first sight). Mostly because indeed, is has less of an epic wow factor. Originally I wanted to use Strange Behavior by Feed Me, the drop being from 0:54 - 1:01, where at 1:01 I would make a groll starting out really weak but getting progressively stronger with the music, followed by craziness at 1:08. Never finished that one though. Maybe in Hypersonic Motion? Probably won't happen. Anyway, glad you like the all gwell part now, and I'm also glad that you're as critical as you are. We'll talk more on Skype.~boo wrote:Let me just start by saying that although we are known for having long ass unwatchable intros.. This was the weakest one you've ever done. Like for real though.
