Twist- theacp127
After a year of not really working on much I finally finished a new track. The first couple seconds were made awhile ago so it's well, choppy. Hope you enjoy it anyway.

I love how any sort of unused lines automatically bring people back to that. That is literally the only gimmick I've seen that people bring stuff like that up. Even offsled tracks, you never hear anything about "Wow, that reminds me exactly of Conun's track!" What difference is this to that?

because thats the only note-worthy offsled track and also nobody has made offsled tracks since the one contest back in like 2008

This is true. But then again, no one really makes unused lines either. I dunno, it sort of irked me whenever people said that about Curiosity, too. Maybe it's because the entire reason why we include it is to make our track interesting and original, having it automatically compared to something else done before makes it feel a bit less special.

So Opal, do you actually have anything to say about my track, or are you just causing trouble again? Don't make me report you the the crazy squirrel dude.

Lol, well. The track was nice, the flow to the sync was good, nah, and sorry about that too by the way, that comment was just something that had irked me before, and seeing it appear again sorta gave me reason to voice my opinion.
But I really could tell you were trying out a whole bunch of different stuff that broke away from what we consider the "social norm" of line rider, and that is a really good thing. One of the biggest things that stood out to me was the granual at :57, which did a great, clean job of breaking away from whatever we had expected to come next in the track.

@opal - if you really want to get picky it dates back to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA9jkfbxhh4 april 2007
it's funny how lots of people have had this idea somewhat independently over the years.
I did really like that bit though, because the shape of it was aesthetically pleasing rather that just misleading or messy. I'd love to see more green-lines-in-quirk stuff where the track isn't exactly trying to fake you out, just sort of smoothly blending into pretty shapes and curves. That could be really cool. Breaking the boundaries between track and scenery and whatnot. But like actually. someone should do that lol. so many possibilities there and we've just barely scratched the surface...
ANYWAY. about the rest of the track. Nice to see something from you after a long time. Started off kinda shaky but I could really see how much you improved by the time we got to the end of the track. Hope to see more of you in the coming months!
