Well, I believe we are at enough of a functioning level again to be making tracks again. Plus, even if there's only a handful of people who comment on my tracks anymore, that makes me happy enough to continue <3In Ashes, Shotoku wrote:In terms of solo trackmaking, this is the end for me, until our time comes again.
A thing I made that I thought was pretty awesome, despite being shorter than I would like (but then again, I didn't want to over-extend my self as usual ) I think my manuals had really improved lately, and hope people can tell from this. Thanks to Opal for helping me get there and providing useful input early in the track that made this turn out a little better. I kind of wish I didn't start out with XY, but I was thinking of making this an omni, so w/e

I absolutely loved this track and how it progressed throughout, the manuals had great flow to them and I think you're manuals have definitely gotten better! Good work!
Re: Phoenix
Woohoo! Nice track!
First thing's first those flames in the intro are easily the shittiest flames I have ever seen in video editing. Okay moving on.
XY start didn't bother me because it was a good solid 25-second section. And your XY is really good! really flowy, lots of creative stuff, good rotation, nice stop'n'go, and unpredictable. And the transition was really great.
Your manuals are also quite good, but I think you might be focusing too much on getting maximum pressure - sometimes it looks good to have weaker but still consistent pressure, and then you can maintain them more too. But this section had great speed and flow and directional variance and rotation and all that good stuff. I especially liked the bit at 1:05
Highspeed transition was also great and your highspeed manuals are better than your slow manuals which confirms my suspicions about manual pressure. Also 1:30 made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside for personal reasons But really, the section was really solid variety, entertainment factor, etc.
This is really a great solid track and I know you know I know it's nothing groundbreaking, but nice job being able to crank something fun like this out that quickly. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!

Re: Phoenix
Sweet, the whole track flowed so nicely I don't think I caught all the recycles the first time around.
Re: Phoenix
1:05 really did a great job of showing off your creativity, and in my mind just reinforces how many more original things we're able to create, even if they are based around the same tricks that we already know. I enjoyed it, and am glad I could help you out.

This is like the first track I have ever seen that feels, like, dreamy. A real treat.
The XY was especially cool, I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining it could be without having to be super-powerful and jerky. You're really developing a unique style, and it's immense fun to watch.

That's a funny thing to notice, the recycle thing. I don't really see it personally, but I'll think about that more in the future.Kramwood wrote:Manuals could still use some work, but they're good. It seems you have the same problem I had with my manuals. The recycles seemed to be more smoother than the original manual itself. for example: 1:08. I think the issue there is that you spend more time trying to get the recycle to look nice and fit in than you are trying to make the manual to begin with. With all that said the higher speed manuals looked pretty decent. Overall you did a nice job with this track though. Aside from the intro it was rather enjoyable.
Hopefully not too long, if my past work rate is any indication, I would guess near the end of the year, but with the rate I made this track at, it might be much sooner. Glad you liked the xy so muchGetthim wrote:Really awesome! loved the xy and the manuals! when is the next track coming?

Hmm, I'll keep that in mind. I see what you're trying to get at but I also seem to be getting conflicting signals about manual pressure from people.rabid squirrel wrote:Your manuals are also quite good, but I think you might be focusing too much on getting maximum pressure - sometimes it looks good to have weaker but still consistent pressure, and then you can maintain them more too. Seems like this is the general comment I get on a lot of my tracks, "nothing extremely impressive but it was sure fun to watch", which I guess I can take pride in, and always pushes me to keep getting better. I'm still hoping to eventually surpass everybody's expectations as I did with Smile, and hopefully my next big project will make that happen.rabid squirrel wrote:Highspeed transition was also great and your highspeed manuals are better than your slow manuals which confirms my suspicions about manual pressure. Dreamy, huh? Not sure exactly what you mean by that, but I'm glad it feels unique to you.roflmaoqwerty wrote:This is like the first track I have ever seen that feels, like, dreamy. A real treat.

If I've ever seen smoother recylces, somebody hit me with a shovel. No, seriously. I'll risk life and limb for the level of dedication to your eye pleasing style that I see here. Shotoku, you're incredible.
