Sled Cast - The Line Rider Talk Show

Hey, by the looks of it, we're ready to get this rolling. Here we talk about Line Rider related topics, have various guest riders talk with us, break down tracks frame by frame, and many more!

Want to be on the show? Sign up here! Minimum requirements are that you need Skype, and a working microphone. Once you have applied for an appearance, your name will be put into a flash that will randomly select one name from a pool of names each week. At the end of each show, we will utilize the name picker during the stream (so everyone can see we're not being biased). We will post the results in this topic, and the chosen user will provide us with the necessary info we need. If you don't show up, or are in a situation where you can't talk, we'll just draw again, and just do no guest. If you do make it on the show, and want to go again, please wait 2 weeks before you apply again! If you think you can make it Saturday, we will add you to our special Skype chat room where you can ask us any question you need to ask.

Along with random names, we also do random subjects (to keep things interesting), so please, get creative, but please keep it pg-13, or something that wouldn't get locked in this forum.

Count me in. I started up a podcast before and had a good amount of viewers then the group got into a disagreement :'(.

Edit: If you guys record the podcasts on saturdays the only time I would be able to make it is from 10am to 2pm as I have to go to work at 3pm :'(.

I think it would be cool for you guys to try and dig up/contact older members who are no longer around. Do some interview type stuff and see people's views about the old days/old memories/special moments of the past.

Btw y'all, there are usually going to be at the same time of day, but for this first one, it will be a few hours later than usual. (about 7:00 PM Central Time)

This. I think choosing just random people to show up wouldn't really be the best thing you could do. In order of priorities for choosing, I'd go like this (keep in mind that this is a rough draft and only one idea):

1) Whether or not they've had any influence at all. Grey members and such are fine for this step, but people who don't know what Line Rider is aren't. Yes is preferable.
2) Whether or not they want to be on the show. Yes is preferable.
3) Whether or not they've been on the show before. No is preferable.
4) [Optional] Whether or not they're appropriate for the theme of the show. If it's all about white space in scenery, you might want to try to get CommanderCoke on.
5) Whether or not they're someone people would be excited to hear from. If you can get TechDawg, definitely go for it.
6) Whether or not they're shuper important to everything. If you have a choice between LineRiderGjert and LineRiderGGG, choose LineRiderGjert, unless your theme is absolute n00bs who have no idea what they're doing (Oh geez I hope there isn't actually a LineRiderGGG).
7) Their equipment. If you have a choice between Sorvius and someone else comparable, you might want to choose Sorvius because he has good enough equipment that InXile paid him to do a show for them for a while.

That's all I can really think of, but it gives you a pretty good idea.

Also, does this really have to be live? Maybe you could do a podcast type of thing and then just play it on the stream at the next appropriate time. This might allow you to do things like clipping of unneeded parts, choosing a time that's best for your guest, or even basic video (CHUGGERS YES). Could be pretty awesome.

But in all seriousness, contacting those members would be really hard, let alone convincing them to give us their info to a community they have managed to successfully give up. Obviously a few would most likely make it, and we can squeeze them in easily. It's just getting a hold of them that's the problem. You can go find these people if you want, in fact:

If anyone would like to contact and get retired members to come onto the show, we would appreciate the effort. Ask them to email me at kbeevans@gmail.com so we can talk to each other if you manage to convince them to show up.

As for the Live thing, it's a funner experience to be live. But I will also be recording the entire show, and then I'll edit it and upload it as a podcast on youtube.

EDIT: The random name selection is to give each member a fair chance of getting on. We don't want anyone to think someone got on sooner because they were more popular, or for some silly odd reason. No one may think of that, but it's also just easier then arguing about who should go next.

^ The only problem with it being live is that it might be difficult for some guests to appear at a certain time, so you may end up with the same guests over and over again just because of the time slot.

Also, if you're really gunning for the random selection, I at least think you might want to choose the first one and then make it random, just to give the show a little starting kick. Just an idea.
