3.4.1 [release] Empty 3.4.1 [release]

Post by [senpai] kevans Fri Apr 19, 2013 1:20 pm

Honestly, couldn't think of a better name, an I fo sho ain namin it tree poin fiy.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/epdrazzvlf0ssn3/LR%203.4.1.swf?m

I'll be listing off the current additions and adding screenshots.

Timer improvement: Flag will display time it was placed, and when player presses play, the time will resume from when the flagged was placed.
Spoiler:

Load tracks without scenery: Currently "works". Green lines won't load or add to line count, or be added on screen, but will still "load" then lines. No, this does not mean you can't see them, they are litterally not there.

Spoiler:

And yes, you see that correctly, a sol corruption fixer. Those "Ghost saves" you see in the track list are merely side effects, still trying to get rid of them, but for the most part this does fix corruptions. comes with a nice loader:

Spoiler:

Added superzoom by pressing 'z' during playback, still trying to decide if I want it to zoom in real time, or adjust speeds depending on framerate.
Start point is now bosh. yes, I stole this idea from Mhenr, but no one really cares. and tbh, I know/think both of us were planning this looooooooong ago.
Fixed lag issues. Found out what was causing that ghost lag.
Speedometer fix. Rounds better, so even much more accurate speed.
Preview line is same thickness as black part of line. Something that has always bugged me, seeing the grey preview double in thickness when you let go of the mouse.

Yay! Inverted Onoz The only thing that was keeping me stuck on 3.3 was the weird lag in 3.4. Maybe you can send me a .swf of your current build to test it, since I seemed to be one of the only people with that problem?
Also, please don't forget that specialty hax version I requested for recording CotMs Wink

Um the timer itself is not accurate. Like if you start playing a track, and then replay the track at 0:20, the timer only resets the seconds and not the frames.

Working on it. I want to get this one established before that specialty request.

That was fixed ages ago.

These are all good things, though I am extremely skeptical about the "corruption fix" button.

- flag + time thing = AWESOME
- superzoom with Z = AWESOME
- preview line same width = AWESOME

I'm totally switching to this from 6.x once it's released

As far as I can tell, this is one of those weird version specific things, still looking into it of course.

I don't doubt your skepticism, I'm skeptical myself. I had it working in that screenshot, but when I got the ghost saves to go away, the fixing part went away. It does the exact same thing I did with the sol editor, but there might be something sol editor does that I'm unaware of. I might just make a tutorial thread in the end.

you should totally put that weird nighttime special effect in there as an option! (That you did with that shammies track and were going to try with Light Pattern)

First I need to learn how to change stage color in as2, then we'll be okey dokey. Or I could release it right here cuz lazy: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o0q43p4m6967ea5/LR%203.4%20paint%20hax.swf?m

However, I am working on a hit test function, that will work just like that visual hax, but no black background.

Anyways, I'm dropping the sol fix, that doesn't want to play nice, and I know how you guys get when something is even implied that would ruin your tracks. So at this point, throw any small detail at me you would like, and I'll see what I can do. For the most part, this is done, I'm just going over everything to make sure I didn't mess anything else up.also flagsave may be a possibillity.

EDIT: Along with this release, I will be going through every single feature that has stuck in my builds from v2 so people can know what I've done. AKA, the master list of features that Kevans has implemented.

Does tab work to zoom out to see the whole track and then back in to a specific spot work? I haven't seen it in any version since 6.2 and I STILL miss it.

Features that have exsited before this update, and are currently implemented (that I found):

~Flag lock - option to lock flag during editing and playback to prevent accidental clickage
~Zoom status - Displays a number representing the level of zoom you're at
~Scenery wipe - Shift click green swatch will prompt user to dump green lines
~Color playback - toggle in menu
~Zoom level playback - Customize the zoom ammount
1) Normal 200
2) Current Zoom
3) Custom Zoom from -1400 to +1400
~Pause button - self explanatory
~Autosave - saves track every desired event
1)Choose between timed save, line count save, or both
2)Time format "Autosave Date/Month/Year"
3)On/off toggle
4)Customize how often each save will occur
~Contact points - A muxh easier way of seeing Bosh's body and sled.
~Line snapping with 45 degree incriments
~Cookies - Separate sol that will remember certain settings the player has set, so he doesn't have to keep turning them on and off every time LR opens
~Tab Key fix
~Improved help system
~Perfected Speedometer - Proper speed when going down and backwards, Zero PPF is now possible, and the rounding now gives a more precise number.
~Vectorized UI - Looks nicer
~Drawing over start point
~Compas auto updates
~Loading speed toggle
~Time display minutes:seconds:frames in second
~Flag no longer blurry
~Sticky color eraser - shift clicking eraser will keep it in color eraser mode until it's shift clicked again
~Shiftless superzoom
~Scroll wheel superzooms
~Crosshair visible over lines
~Opens at 1280x720 - though some get it at 740 for no apparent reason
~Save menu saftey questions - "are you sure you want to save/load/delete the track?"
~Blink rate fix
~Ghost flag toggle
~Invisible UI toggle
~Minor lag reductions
~Line swapping - hold 's' when using eraser
~No line angle limit
~'m' key bug removed
~scroll lock toggle
~quality toggle
~pencil smoothing
~Load track button
~Removal of quick tips

I do know there's a lot more than this, but they must have been done on a whim right then and there, so I don't remember doing them or I can't find them in old topics.

Is double flags still a no? A couple of us where talking about it the other day and I recall from awhile ago you saying that it would be possible but impractical due to resource consumption. I could be remembering wrong though

So I just found out.

Sol corruptions are literally data corruptions.

That's why flash crashes each time, you're trying to load garbage data.

I had a sol that was guarenteed to get a corruption, so I draw a bunch of lines. After that, I erased everything until nothing but 4 corrupted lines were left.

I open up sol editor.

THEY DON"T SHOW UP.

I swear, the more I look into this, the harder it gets.

little things I've added just recently:

Adjustable eraser size: Pressing +/- will adust eraser size. Works for the most part, zooming in or out causes eraser size to not match range.

Scroll slow motion adjust: (or as I like to call it, "bullet time"), using the mouse wheel while slow motion is on will make it slower or faster from 1fps to 40 fps.

There's was only one bug I couldn't get rid of, and that was the zoom tool play glitch. It's easy to get around however, just switch your tool when it happens, and is easily avoidable by simply not pressing play while using the zoom tool. Hey, don't get mad at me, I'm trying to be honest here.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/epdrazzvlf0ssn3/LR%203.4.1.swf?m

I shall work on a ground up build right after this (and I'll get what you wanted done shotoku Wink ), strait from 6.7. I want to do this so We can reach that perfect flash build nirvana we've been wanting, until Unleashed comes out.

You just stated the problem. What you don't know is what's causing the problem. Best I can tell you is to upgrade your flash player. FP11 is actually pretty boss, and it supports fraps.

I have FP11. So far only 3.4.1 is the only version that has given me any lag. It's weird.
