Thanks again to Helios Pavonine for letting me record his track. No, this isn't a "everything syncs" joke. And I have no idea what those flickering lines on the screen are.
Forgot to clarify this: The faster you go, the more zoomed out it will be, the slower you go, the more zoomed in it'll be.
This is a feature I came up with awhile ago that I thought would be very useful. I thought of it when I realized how hard it is to get the proper zoom for a track, so I thought "Why didn't do it automatically?". So I worked for a bit and got this. The only major problem I could not iron out is that it causes a shit ton of lag whenever it attempts to re-adjust the zoom, even when you have it set at 1 fps slowmo.
Ironically enough, this is a great way to tell how "smooth" a track is. The more the speed fluctuates, the more the zoom will jitter. I did throw in a function that would turn off the dynamic zoom for 5 frames, then allow for re-adjust for one frame, then have it off for another 5 frames, repeat, but something like alt quirk or stop-n-go still wouldn't come out very well.
Make this a feature Mhenr. Please?

Eden has music on Youtube!
From an "I have no idea how hard it is to code and how much effort kevans put into the feature" point of view, I found it pretty rough (like you said).
Another idea: like the camera in Beta 3, you could make it so that the track automatically zooms in or zooms out instead of having to stare at the slow motion and zoom in and out manually.

For one, beta 3 never adjusted its zoom automatically. Two, I didn't clarify this, so my bad, but it is adjusting its zoom automatically. the part where it actually adjusts itself is what causes the lag.

Oh my god, I hadn't noticed yet! This is wonderful news. YouTube seems to be smoother than Vimeo for some reason.gaoyubao wrote:Eden has music on Youtube!
Awesome concept, looking forward to using it in tracks.

This is pretty legit, although the only thing is that some compact stuff looks good when way zoomed out, and that some highspeed looks good zoomed in. The dynamic zoom is super cool, though, don't get me wrong; I'd love to have it as a feature in a new version. Yet another ingenious tool

No I mean like you can choose a place in the track where, when Bosh gets there, the camera will suddenly zoom in or out. So instead of zooming in or out while recording the track, you can just relax. So like in Jam, multiple times the camera zooms in for the xy and quirk sections and zooms out for the highspeed sections.
This is a separate concept from the dynamic camera, which automatically zooms in and out based on speed. What I was talking about zooms in and out based on what the track maker wants.
Re: Dynamic zoom concept: test 1
I think it would be a lot more practical if it was less sensitive to speed change. The XY section fluttered a lot, but realistically every track has a lot of speed changes. Also if you could get the zooming to be smoother (like what people do with video editing), that would be awesome as well.
Still really cool, but yeah there is my feedback.
