Red Line Behavior Empty Red Line Behavior

Post by iPi Wed Apr 20, 2011 1:44 am

I've experienced this glitch many times before with the way I draw my curves, but this is the first time I was able to recreate it repeatedly (by accidentally erasing the 2 lines I was messing with :|). If everyone already knew about this, then more :|

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3x9FZZcMYqM

Also, this happens in 6.2 as well, you just can't reset it. (I think)

i think it has something to do with the snapping feature. the physics are minute, to the point where we don't see them, and unfortunately neither does the snap tool, so my theory is the snap of the line sometimes changes depending on how you place it or if you move anything around (like using the hand tool) or etc. another thing i notice is normally when you erase a line and then draw in one of a different color, it kinda looks like it was placed over all the lines before it, like layers or somehting. this may have something to do with the problem your running into, but i think the whole precise physics vs less precise snap feature makes more sense.

Lines can be BEHIND another line. If a line is behind another line and then you recreate that line but then in front of the other line it may cause something to change. It happens in manuals, but also in stacked gwells. That's basicly what's happening here Wink

interesting. Never realized that.

This explains a lot of frustration I've had in making manuals at high speeds lol

Makes sense Raf. Maybe that can also explain why Shift+Backspace doesn't seem to always return the lines exactly back to the way they were.

Exactly. When you draw a line it will be on top of the other line(s).

You can also make a line with acceleration (dont matter which way) and then a blue line over it, to make it slightly less affecting
