(CC) Computer Problems Empty (CC) Computer Problems

Post by Commandercoke Sun Oct 11, 2009 10:06 pm

So I came back to my computer after showering and it was frozen, so I restarted it and it froze again within a few seconds of turning on. So then the next day I tried again and it said that a recent change in harddrive caused a malfunction. The only thing I did out of usual was install iTunes (if that matters, idk). After a few more tries it let me get on, but I can't log onto MSN, AIM, Gmail, or Youtube. Actually, I searched on youtube for my channel and within a few seconds it told me that the website's security certificate has expired, and it says that for logging on to other stuff too.
So, can anybody help or give some advice? ;-;
Thanks

Wow... Seems like you're in some real trouble there.

I'm only responding 'cause you asked me to, I have no idea what's going on or how to stop it.

Get off Internet Explorer. Boom, you're set.

In all seriousness, whenever something strange happens on a computer, it's a good idea to just reinstall the OS.

For your internet problems, I'd reccomend goodle chrome, that's really good for web browsing. I'm not sure what happened with your aim and msn, re-install them? I have no idea why they all suddenly broke, have you ever left it on for that long before?
edit: just realized, if you can't access the internet that well, how're you gonna download google chrome :facepalm: to me....

If it says that you have a harware malfunction, then maybe it overheated or something, and if your computer have a garantee you should get it fixed that way.

You could always put your programs on an external hardrive, wipe the comp, and then put the programs + files onto the wiped comp. I've done it before when i had a virus and it worked

Get a jumpdrive/flashstick/whatever to put the most important stuff on, and then wipe the drive and start over.

Or start by scanning for viruses and whatnot...

Exactly. AVG is reputable free Anti-Virus software, along with Ad Aware and SpyBot S&D. Start by doing complete scans with each of these programs, see what they detect. If they don't fix the problem, relocate all of your sensitive data, format your HDD and reinstall Windows.
