Re: Community Scenery Project #6: Triumph
bump in case anyone is interested.
Or if anyone has theories on why nobody is interested? and why nobody really cared when phunky was released? I'm not going to give up on scenery in our community but I'd love to see if we can figure out ways to make this more successful...

Re: Community Scenery Project #6: Triumph
I can say from personal preference and grom from being a non scener, that triumph is by far the least aesthetic track that we have done a csp on so far with the least consistent curves and the most quirk. It's not as fun to scene as previous tracks.
Re: Community Scenery Project #6: Triumph
i agree with sheldon, sceneing quirk isn't fun and it's not as easy either. i am happy to help again once i got this assignment done and handed in on wednesday.Sheldon wrote:I can say from personal preference and grom from being a non scener, that triumph is by far the least aesthetic track that we have done a csp on so far with the least consistent curves and the most quirk. so i guess you can expect me to be taking it and having a go on thursday, unless someone else takes it before me.

Re: Community Scenery Project #6: Triumph
but because of new line rider version this is the first csp in which everyone can make their own transitions from all the adjecant parts. Also, because the track has smaller manuals and more quirk, the scenery will be much more dense. I am really stoked to see what we will do with it. defos more difficult doe

What we need
is for people to start figuring out trackmaking styles that are much more fun to scene

This is not rocket science, but nobody is making these tracks.Dapianokid wrote:What we need

Tracks that are fun to scene:
- low amounts of quirk
- low amounts of flings
- low speeds
- low amounts of tracks lines that cross or come very close to crossing
- low amounts of very long lines or curves
- low amounts of loops
Even the LCC track that was made explicitly for scenery didn't really meet much of these criteria.

This. I picked turmeric all those years back because there was no flings, but even that was tough because lots of lines crossed and there were loops EVERYWHERE good god

Re: Community Scenery Project #6: Triumph
Would anyone be interested in making a track that actually DOES fit those criteria, that then could be used for a CSP? We wouldn't even have to wait until triumph is done, we could start right now.
In the meantime, if anyone is interested in taking this part, please do, and post saying you did.

Re: Community Scenery Project #6: Triumph
I kept getting an error trying to load the sol you provided on lra. However, when I loaded it on 3.4.x, clicked save track replacing the original save, then I was able to load up this track.
Just a heads up for anyone else who wants to use lra.
