Lets put a track on memebase

So the sledcast hosts have been talking about ways we can advertise Line RIder, and I pointed out that Memebase would be a very excellent resource. I do understand that this has been done before with EoLR, but to a new guy, the first thirty seconds or whatever aren't really that impressive, and people will leave out of bordem. So what we could do discuss a potential track that can be posted on Memebase that shows the viewers what sort of stuff we do, but isn't too complicated. My opinion goes towards Blue Champion (Metallica adds bonus points to ho cool of a track it is), but other tracks are up for discussion.

Once we've decided upon a track, and we post it, we must have as many people to up vote the post so it can make it to the front page of video games, or even potentially Memebase Homepage.

Why Memebase, specifically?

Large number of people viewing, easy for people to access. It doesn't have to specifically be memebase, we were just using that as opposed to, say, reddit, where it'll probably be lost within the first day, unless we were really lucky.

My vote is we advertise a scenery track. It's the only way people are actually going to look at LR and think about wanting to make something. You have to look at it from an outsiders view; nobody is going to care what a track like Blue Champion or even Eden will look like, because they have no idea what's going on (no offense of course.) I say we do something by ssssschiller or maybe even... Phunner.

I think Phunner would be a good way to go because post-modernism but I'm not sure how an audience would take it. It'd probably be safer to go with a scenery track but it could be an option

I don't think people will get the vast majority of the jokes in Phunner if they haven't played Line Rider before

Scenery is the most accessible but big scenery tracks tend to scare people off, and also very few people scene these days

I don't think big scenery tracks scare anyone off, I think they are the most effective actually. Afterall, where would we be without Techdawg right?

But yes it is a shame people don't scene very often at all these days, but advertisement is still advertisement. I think we should still go with scenery.

i disagree, i've shown friends/people big tracks like bs, is, bttw, ect and they all have been like absolutely amazed. because i mean if someone posts a drawing on facebook and its really detailed and crazy no matter who they are they'll see it as something cool or talent.

and yeah i really wish there was equal amounts of scenery then there are bare tracks

I'd probably say that we go for a scenery track. I mean after all, most of us here were attracted to here because of TD's scenery

I agree with the whole scenery thing, but I'd recommend one of CC's or Schiller's tracks. Nothing waaaaay too ornate, but beautiful and entertaining nonetheless.

I agree that a scenery track would be perfect to demonstrate what we do. And despite there aren't many sceners left, that doesn't mean we can't "recruit" anyone. I'm thinking about making an FAQ regardless if we put a track on Memebase to cover what a new guy might expect.

^ I was going along the lines of more in depth of the toy itself. Not saying Opal's thread isn't bad or anything, It'd just be best to have a go to thread that explains more about the toy rather than what goes on in the forum.

That could be great. But I think someone who is more knowledgeable about all parts of line rider should do it. You're welcome to try but I dunno how well you can write about e.g. alt quirk. (I have never written anything like this because I can't write about it either)

I would nominate Cereal, personally.

Alt quirk is a sub-genre of quirk, in that it also contains gravity wells, as noted by the titular word "quirk". An excellent quality of most alt quirkers are that they can use a single well, as well as many, to make bosh do what the trackmaker wants, such as flipping, moving around the track, and kinda doing his own thing on the whole canvas, you know what i mean? Actually, scrap that, you do whatever the hell you want like JUST BLAM splatter on all this cool stuff and see if it looks cool and if it looks cool then you keep and so stuffs things and... WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT the line thingys are like more just there than not there so you do stuff with those thingys for they do stuff you like. So first, what do you guys exactly want? More people to play Line Rider, or more people to be on WRTL?

But anyways, if one track was to attract the most attention, I think it's Breathtaking Silence.
If you want a track that is very wut-inducing, take Eden 2 (maybe Rofl's edit?) or something else. Show your non-LR friends some tracks, and see which ones confuse them the most.
If you are targeting a specific demographic, use Pinkie Pie or Twilight Sparkle or Rainbow Dash.
