It's only $30 and I bought it for recording some iPhones for projections for a play but it works super well for mac screen recording

so until unleased comes out I highly recommend this thing for mac peoples it's what I'll be using instead of display eater from now on

When you go to record w/ QTX you can just click and drag to select an area. It uses a ton of CPU but it's pretty damn good for my purposes.

If I were to be doing real gameplay or software tutorials, then this would be the better way of recording, but since all we need it for one area, with no sound or anything, quicktime is just as effective.
