Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
Yes. Just to give you an idea, so are cannons that touch his shoulder, flatsledding granuals (e.g. spidey/foot) hand flanuals (they touch his shoulder too) and stuff like thatKtk wrote:Are pinches allowed?
They're like headriding and flatriding at the same time!
@ Devray - awesome
Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
But then shouldn't shoulderflings be allowed too? I don't really get these strange rules. You can't make him flip with a line, but you can do flanuals. It's just weird
edit:
Rabid, come on MSN for a sec, want to ask you about my track, cause I am not sure if I am following the rules correctly. Just wanna talk about it, since they are just so confusing to me

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
flanuals might not be allowed if he's not touching the line (IE, you make a fling, then an opposing curve afterwards, lolz

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
@Ktk - not really sure what your example meant, but yes, if he's not touching the line it's against the rules.
Look at it this way:
If he's pushing normally against a line on his shoulder/head or in flatsled, you can do whatever you want, including pinches/gravity/etc, but only WHILE he is touching a line in one of these two ways.
(from ZNF convo - quirky curves are ok, to a point. Just make sure he generally collides with the line, not like he goes past and is jerked by it.)
I'm not that strict, so if you're wondering if you can do something, the answer is probably yes as long as it follows the above rule. Ofc you can ask if you're not sure though
EDIT: I also changed around the OP a little, I think it's clearer now.

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
Ok, one last question.
You know how we are allowed to catch him by first letting him "manual" a bit then get to the flatsledding part. What if you do not flatsled, but just let him spin, by using this. Especially at high speeds this is nice to do, it gives a nice spin.

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
no, that would be classified as tipping, if I'm picturing your situation right.
What I mean is, if you make him go into flatsled and for one frame his tail isn't quite touching that's ok. Try to avoid actually making him hit the line in a manual and then collapse, that kind of ruins the spirit of the contest.

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
May we do a foot fling/well?
EDIT: And an alt fling?

^ um, no. (unless he's headriding or flatsledding while he's doing it)
read the rules, bud.

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
Ok then, people who've said they will enter:
- MrEmulation ("I guess")
- Z_N-Freak
- Ktk
- King D
- chaomocha
- Devray
Entries are due Saturday, but nobody is done yet. I'll PM everyone involved asking for a progress update. I want to have at least a few entries before I make a poll, and I don't want to cut anyone off, so I might be able to extend the deadline. Remember you should PM me your entry when you're done!
If you're still working on a track, or want to start one, I promise I'll wait until you're done (well, to a point, I won't wait for months )
Since this is the only sort of active contest, I'm stickying it.

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
904 lines, about 25-30 secs of track. Not that much yet, I at least want to get to 1:30. I'm doing my best to get it done before saturday though, because the week after that I won't be able to do much, since my studies will start and at the beginning of the week we have a camp.

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
ok, that's fine. chaomocha said he's not going to enter either, so we're down to 4 possible entries. I want at least 4 before I let people publish stuff, so new people can definitely enter.
remember, all participants get +rep!

Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
I HIGHLY doubt i'll be done by the 29th. Ive got a ton of marching band stuff, and im going to a 'party' with my friends tomorrow. ;_;
Also, ZNF's track looks epic

It's above the smallest loop thingy, just a backwards pinch. Nothing fancy.
and thanks @ above
I am making it a bit more epic though then it was. Trying to implement some tricks that are allowed by the rule involving wells.
Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
Devray, if you're making an entry, I'll be willing to wait. How about....September 6th?
Re: Flatsled/Headriding Contest [ended, poll up]
I was going to wait until the last minute to enter so I could be all "SUPRISE ENTRY BLARG " on you guys, but since it seems like the contest is running low on participants to the point where the entry due date may be pushed back, I'll announce myself now: I'm entering.
I has 1077 lines and ~39 seconds so far.
