Mediafire links
Forumotion is apparently putting ads in mediafire links. really dumb.
anyhow, here's several ways we can get around this.
1. click on the link, and click on the blue arrow in the single second it's on the screen before it goes to some stupid game ad.
2. quote their post without actually posting and copy the mediafire link from their post.
3. Use a tinyurl/cuthut/bit.ly link when posting the mediafire link.
EDIT: here we go: http://help.forumotion.com/other-problems-f46/mediafire-links-are-weird-t74710.htm?highlight=mediafire

It doesn't have a gender, so how can it be gay?

Re: Mediafire links
Or you could just deal with it and skip the ad. They don't bother me because it takes 2 seconds to get rid of. I honestly don't know why people complain about 15 seconds of their life taken away by ads, when you aren't going to do anything productive with those 15 seconds anyway if you are already sitting at your computer instead of doing something, you know, more productive.

When I get an ad it opens in a new window, so to me it isn't an issue. So I really can't see the point of the announcement since mine wasn't what you are explaining, just kinda figured it was that way for everybody .

Re: Mediafire links
i have dial-up and i never got an ad, and it took forever to come up i'd leave the comp for a while and come back to see that the blue arrow came up. so i never had a problem :3

Re: Mediafire links
My solutions
1. Some ads leave a "Go to mediafire page" link on them. Click it
2. Upload with filefront.
3. Copy the link and paste it manually.

Does it display ads?
AdBlock saves days.
Forumotion is gay anyway.

Re: Mediafire links
I highly recommend getting the addon AdBlock plus, comes in handy at most of times
Especially for mediafire.
