Re: Round #2 - Poll #7 [TIEBREAKER]
Just Unusuals for me.
- Spoiler:
- UnusualsThis track has always felt somewhat low key and do-whatever to me, and yet I really enjoy the creativity it displays, especially in the opening seconds.
FunkI really love this track. I know, the first bit is way different from the last stuff but they flow well enough into each other that IMO it works.I enjoyed some of the crazy multilining towards the end, but the majority feels like very generic quirk to me, and I'm a little put off by the message of the track, which seems to be "Look how good I am at quirk now." At least it's up front about it though.
MultiverseI find this track strikingly unmemorable. This is a herculean effort by one of the most skilled trackmakers of all time, and I can't deny that to me, it comes across as the most impressive naked track in the entire tournament. But to me there just feels like a lack of overall direction and purpose besides "make a gigantic omnitrack with as many different sections as possible". And nothing brings this point home like the undeniably half-assed ending.I realized on second watch how heavy this is on fling quirk. So much so that the dense sections, the XY, and the 45 degree section and feel really random. And the fling quirk is too fast paced for me to appreciate. The vast majority of things are maintained for less than half a second and it's just incredibly hard to see any rhyme or reason to it all.
Re: Round #2 - Poll #7 [TIEBREAKER]
Voted Unusuals and Funk. Multiverse is by far the most technically insane and at the same time worst presentation of possibly all tracks in ToL. The song completely doesn't mesh with the track imo. FUNK and Unusuals are a pure joy to watch for me. FUNK lacks the wow factor that CTD has for me, but is still a solid track and Unusuals might be my favourite track from Chuggers. It's just so smooth and synced lovely and everything, oh goodie
Re: Round #2 - Poll #7 [TIEBREAKER]
I voted Multiverse and Unusuals. I'd wager that Multiverse is already outdated in terms of quirk, but it's still such an iconic track for me. Plus, it shows up in related vids a lot for me. As for unusuals, I mean really is this even a question

Oh shit, we could choose 2? My bad.
Voted just Multiverse, I've watched and re-synced and attempted to scene that track too many times for me not to.
Would have also chosen Unusuals, though it doesn't look like it needed much help.

Unusuals is an easy winner for me.
Then is was between FUNK and Multiverse, hard one. FUNK is pretty funky and consistent throughout, and the ending is awesome. Multiverse is pretty speedy and inconsistent. Has some really cool moves and some really bad ones. I've started to love how KW manages to end his tracks awkwardly :')
In the end, FUNK gmv. It's more unique and holds more of its own compared to other entries in ToL than Multiverse.

I personally don't see the hype behind unusuals. It's just a 1 min manual track with 2 count them 2 kramual curves... Voted for multiverse EASILY, and Funk.

It is indeed very close. It seems that tracks will start getting harder and harder to choose between.

Multiverse.
On another note, since it's a closed thread now. Shout-out to Rabid for proving my point further in the last tiebreaker thread:
Funny considering it was my opinion that was commented on and called biased when I literally just stated my opinion on which track was better (Sorry I guess we can't point out flaws in tracks anymore I guess [line boosting abuse]. People are too sensitive?). But that's none of my business. I'll be the forum douche I guess lol

1) have a negative opinion about a trackVotale wrote:I guess we can't point out flaws in tracks anymore I guess [line boosting abuse]. People are too sensitive?). But that's none of my business. I'll be the forum douche I guess lol
2) take a shit on the track
3) predict people will call you a douche for "having an opinion"
4) when people call you a douche, claim that your prophecy came true and play the victim
5) ...profit?
Expressing opinions without taking a shit on someone's track looks like this:
"I'm not a fan of the massive amount of line-boosting in Come to Daddy"
"I feel like the line boosting was more of a gimmick than some kind of stroke of genius"
"I don't understand why people love the line-boosting abuse in Come to Daddy"
It does NOT look like this:
Votale wrote:One of my fav manual tracks vs line boosting abuse. Pretty obvious for me. lol
Votale wrote:I would say that you're insane for thinking CTD (herky-jerky) has more flow than Catalyst, but I'd be called a douche for having a differing opinion prolly.
For the record, you CAN express your opinion any way you want. But if you want people to 1) take your opinions seriously and 2) appreciate your presence, I'd recommend being a bit more sensitive with those opinions. (if you don't care, then there's no reason for you to even be reading this post, let alone responding to it)
Re: Round #2 - Poll #7 [TIEBREAKER]
People can say a track has "no flow" based on their subjective opinion and that a track has no "intention" or "purpose" behind it, but when I say that a track abuses a type of trick that's wrong? I mean, the whole track is line boosting, that's it. That's like the definition of abuse/overuse. lol All I said what each track was to me. Blatantly. I didn't think C2D had any chance of winning the competition, so I stated my opinion and voted just like you and everyone else has done.
Also, I'm not playing a victim. I made an opinion and got called biased and responded to something questioning the integrity of my opinion. And you did make my prediction come true. Thanks. I don't even know why I'm even on this forum anymore when stating an opinion makes everyone butthurt hahah. kbye im out.

It's way more about the WAY you say it than explicitly what you say. Surely you can see that the way you phrased it was obnoxious?
Re: Round #2 - Poll #7 [TIEBREAKER]
I'm responding because I'm a stupid doodoobutt who can't keep to himself when he hears stuff about his track.
Nobody (aside from you) has said "no flow." That's an objective value judgement. Not a subjective opinion.
I won't begrudge you for saying this, but I also don't think you understand why I made C2D.
When you state your opinion, you phrase it in such a way that it sounds like you are stating it as objective fact. Perhaps it would be wise to examine this part of yourself, and consider why so many people react the way they do when you post.
I, too, wish I could make something true by stating it.
Confirmation bias is a twisted son of a gun.
I hope wherever you go, or even if you stay, you find a place that makes you happy. Best wishes.
