Decade Collab

^Not saying those are bad songs, but we really need to go all out with this collab, and the track should be the longest track put together in ages. Longer the song the better.

EDIT: I've made enough tools where we can easily make track length longer and less tedious to put up with, lets fucking do this.

I've mentioned this in the track sync thread a while back, but I do think this song would encompass pretty much everything. Plus, it's 10 minutes, for our 10 year anni.

What kind of song are we looking for? Here's a little bit of a different suggestion, but it's 8 minutes long and would work well if the track was very flowy. But I doubt it will all fit this...

we shouldnt make it apparent that its changing year to year, the sections should speak for themselves and should hopefully be seamless

i have a pretty decent dense xy that could have a monument show for like 25 seconds, and would go perfectly for a slow paced song intro, its quirky cloud style xy with space recycling. i think we should scene last, to reduce lag from the long track.

I want to purposefully highlight the limits of waht we can do technically in the game. For such a monster as this, I'm sure there's room for a guy like me to come in and say "And then some of us do this (cue cannons and beyond future quirk)"

So basically we need a project organizer to help get this set straight...rabid.........

Is nobody else gonna suggest that we do one year every thirty seconds or somehting like that and develop each style accordingly?

Sorry, I wish everyone luck but I'm not gonna organize a project that has no real driving artistic goal other than "lets make something HUGE and do EVERYTHING". I have enough to do already.

I've seen this kind of thing happen in this community so many times it's not even funny. (Like, I know that phrase is overused, but it's actually not funny anymore, it's just depressing) People are all interested when the topic first goes up, and then 2 weeks and 3 pages later everyone moves on and nobody cares anymore - nobody even remembers to bump the thread - despite the goal of having a project that will take a year to complete and be mindblowingly epic.

Sure hope that that won't happen here, but I've just never seen it happen, even with small projects. The only recent exceptions I've seen has been CC, who kept thorn clan moving for a long time, and boo, who directed limitations and kept pushing throughout the process.

Biggest thing I see about this project right now is it needs 1) a clear vision of some kind that people can agree on 2) someone to spearhead the project direction and get people to actually make parts and skip them if they don't.

This thread is mostly filled with:
1) song suggestions
2) people saying "is there room for me to do [insert something here]?"
3) what if we [insert idea here]? (without commenting on others' ideas)

I'm down for xy and lower ppf quirk. hit me when it's time to do it.

Really late, but I am. If we are thinking this would be a really long track, another song suggestion is Dance Yrself Clean by LCD Soundsystem. 3 minutes of calm music, 3 minutes of more intense stuff, 2 minutes of calm stuff. It would be a pretty big feat but I think it would be cool.

I think this would be the best way to go. We've done the 'Line Rider Through the Ages" Things before. What I think would make this track cool is the number of participants. What better way to celebrate than by doing what we like most in the game? I think we should vote on a song and give someone the go to start it.
