Observations on Lowspeed Quirk
Let me clarify. This is not run-of-the-mill compact, micro, alt, or any other quirk.
Today I've been playing with making quirk at the lowest interesting speed possible--that is not to say that slower quirk could be made which is interesting, but I imagine what most people hold as the "identity" of quirk might fray a little at the edges at that point. But I digress. This thread is to keep a log of what I've learned so far:
This thread might not be interesting or novel to anyone but me. I'm writing this on the off chance that anyone thinks I'm doing something at least slightly new.
i am also in a very wordy mood today
I would appreciate comments. thx <3

- I've found that the normal range at which I can manage interesting lowspeed falls between 1 and 4 ppf. I am, however, reserving a top speed (for the moment) of 5 to 6 ppf, because I feel that after a while the normal range could become a little stale (imagine quirk at a near-constant speed within any subgenre; "cruise control" doesn't seem like a very interesting avenue).
- While smoothness of flow and style might to some be more admirable in higher speed tracks, I think that the plainness and uniformity of such a style lingers a bit too long in lowspeed, decreasing overall interestingness. I chalk this up to the fact that there seems to be a certain baseline of complexity needed to sustain interest.
- There is no situation I can think of where the lines won't be packed together. A compact style is far more likely in lowspeed quirk, but obviously not a necessity; linear quirk is still very possible. I just don't do that sort of thing.
- This takes as much time as any other track I make per second of track.
- I seem to be going up a lot. It helps with deceleration.
- While usually I try going for more complex combinations of wells and tricks, it looks in this style that I'm using a larger number of wells that in higher-speed tracks would ordinarily speed Bosh up very quickly. The tendency could be because I just started with this style, I'm not totally sure.
- I don't see this catching on, but lowspeed looks like a very good exercise for expanding one's repertoire.

Re: Observations on Lowspeed Quirk
How fast will he be flipping around in all of this? Are his flips going to be super slow, or can he rotatefast and only be moving forward at that super slow rate?

Sounds interesting, but I'm having a hard time visualizing it
Imma guess he's in fakie position over half of the time. Correct?

I started streaming it, but A: my computer crashed and B: the majority of the track was lost.
But no, not in fakie most of the time, actually.

Re: Observations on Lowspeed Quirk
Are you gonna keep making it? I'd be interested in seeing a small portion of it again.

Re: Observations on Lowspeed Quirk
Interesting, my track NOPQ actually kind of fits this low speed quirk definition... it peaks at 14 ppf at some point, but mostly is less than 5.
