Clans Empty Clans

I just wanted to ask, what are clans good for? Isn't whole wrtl just one big clan of all the line riders? (sorry if this questions sounds stupid for someone, I am newbie and I don't know much about wrtl, lr and stuff yet after all, right?)

Well, you're partially correct. Clans are smaller sub-groups of people who *attempt* to collab together. Many get made, some release a track, few stay active for awhile.

There used to be a rule in which you could only be in ONE clan, but for some reason there are people today that are in multiple clans. .-.

This is very true

Cereal is right, when we talk about clans we talk about small groups of Line Riders who plan, make and publish tracks together. These can be free-to-join, but are often by invitation. Also, ages back only people with the same operating system (Windows/Mac) could clan together because of issues with physics. As far as I know, that's no longer the case.

One of the more notable groups of Line Riders are the LCC, who have bold, black usernames. Think of the LCC (which stands for Linerider Community Collaboration) as WRtL's biggest and most official clan. Only Riders of a very high standard get to join. They've released some of the most impressive collab tracks the community has ever seen.

Elites are really a "clan", more like a flock of people that can become moderators at some point.

Mmm, I think clans are more Line Riding groups, so distinguished members of the community like Elites, don't count. The criteria are so different...

Although, frankly, it does help to be good at LR to become an elite. Not because they go, "Hmm, who should be elite? Well, he's good at LR, so sure!" but rather:
(1) It lets you publish popular threads in every section, including the tracks section.
(2) It makes you more enthusiastic about LR (should be fairly obvious), which makes usually makes you more enthusiastic about sites in general.
Of course, there are exceptions, which is probably why FlagCapper never got elite (and instead proceeded to become admin on his own forum).

Anyway, yeah, a couple years ago no one would even have considered the LCC a clan, because battling was a major part of what it meant to be a clan, and the LCC would never battle with a non-LCC clan, and people who were in the LCC could also be in other clans.
However, with the lack of clan battles and the abundance of people being in multiple clans... yeah.
