Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
Trying out a new minimalist style.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L46JS_7nql0
Apparently YouTube is blocking my video in like over 200 countries (basically everywhere except the US, Canada, and some islands) due to copyright claims on the audio. According to Google there are only 196 countries in the world so YouTube is really being ambitious in deciding that nobody can watch this video. I wish I could fix it but I synced the track to this so there's no real good option. Here's a video file download:

I like this style. I like this track. And somehow it's all blue, I don't even know.

I felt like this track was really solid and I liked it a lot. I didn't expect that tail manual to be all blue, I'll tell you that. Song fit it well and everything. Really enjoyed it.

Could have sworn I used that in audioswap once lol. But anyways fantastic recycling. And very good job hiding stabilizers on that one tail manual.
Re: Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
Which? In every manual with stabilizers in them the stabilizers are obvious.Sheldon wrote:Could have sworn I used that in audioswap once lol. But anyways fantastic recycling. And very good job hiding stabilizers on that one tail manual.

The long x taily has no stabilizers? Could I see the trk? Also cannot seem to find the track. Maybe I was mistaken.
Re: Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
The long x taily has stabilizers, but they're not exactly hidden and only used for recycling. I don't use stabilizers anywhere for the initial manuals.Sheldon wrote:The long x taily has no stabilizers? Could I see the trk? Also cannot seem to find the track. Maybe I was mistaken.

Re: Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
I cant see any on the first initial pass to the right? Possibly the longest none stabilized x taily shit.
Re: Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
It's those initial manuals that have me literally unhinged

By far the most enjoyable track I've seen in years.
Watching high speed flings is cool in all, but this was art. You didn't aim for high speed, you didn't aim for cool tricks, (I mean, the recycles were UNNNGGGG but it wasn't like 3 contact point inverted kramual with 1 of Bosh's eyes closed fancy), you just made it smooth. And my god was it smooth. I'd watch more of this style any day. it was good enough that I came to WRTL after seeing it on YouTube with the intention of commenting on it, rather than finding it on WRTL and deciding I was already here so commenting wouldn't be too much effort.

Re: Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
The tailie isn't actually all X, it's very very slightly curved upward but slight enough that you're not able to tell. So it's a matter of getting a very very gentle counterclockwise rotation and lots of patience.Rafael wrote:Oh, my bad.

Re: Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
Wow, this is really neat! I loved the long blue taily and the wavy taily. The fact that it's all blue makes it look smooth and groovy I think. With all red or stabilizers it will become too speedy or wonky and you did a great job of having things smooth and slick. Very chill track!
I think it would be cool to take things even further and go for all blue manuals without stabilizers completely. If you then still manage to include recycles, it'll be bonkers. You already managed a lot here and it's a treat to watch.

Re: Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
I love how utterly unafraid this track is of having "dead space" aka long moments where nothing much happens. I think that the reason it feels so smooth is because of how consistent it is in easing into changes in movement, combined with overall slow speeds. Well done.
Really looking forward to what you do next, especially because of how different this track is from your previous work.

Re: Line Rider - Miniature in Blue
One of the reasons I started playing again is because I spent some time looking through my tracks a few months ago, and I basically concluded that I had been playing the game entirely wrong. After I came to that conclusion I had a few new track ideas and the game seemed entirely fresh again.rabid squirrel wrote:Really looking forward to what you do next, especially because of how different this track is from your previous work.
