Meh, MN is a bit far for me. I probably wouldn't be able to make it. We discussed putting it in multiple popular locations in LiveStream, but there would be less people at each one, and I don't think it would be as good as everyone at one place (Which probably won't happen.) So yea, unless they invent the teleportation device sometime in the near future, I'm not going to get there.

Mikeee, would Louisiana be on the way? Because that's where I'll be.

I have a summer home in Park Rapids, MN, and if it's on a wrong date, I'll just drive there from northern Iowa. Very Happy That is, if I can convince my sister to come (I can't drive alone).

I did. I'm still going to have to do activities in my school even in summer.

This. xD

I think we should just give up on this convention, Rabid. Too spread out, too small of a community.

Here's my version: http://bittipiilo.com/msx/wrtl

It works in all browsers except for IE. It works but there are a few bugs. I know how to fix them and I'll be working on that tomorrow. What I noticed though, is that it works best in Chrome.

  1. moar red? or blue, but I think old-site-IRTL-style is probably best for all us who remember that (like the new site you worked on). In particular I'm not a huge fan of the black-background glowing title.
  2. Have a link to the forum homepage, maybe in that blank space between the header and the embedded Line Rider game
  3. Is it possible to make a version with and without a ToCC2 link? Maybe in the same area as the forum homepage link? (I could then take it out and/or change the link/picture/text for a ToC4 for example when it comes around)
  4. Use the Beta 2 Bosh, not the LR2 Bosh. He sucks.
  5. A Link to "full screen" Line Rider would be nice (just have a link to the url of the embedded game below the embed)

Then someone will have to explain to me how I can use FC's hosting + my domain to actually put this up.

But seriously, nice work :O

1. I'll experiment with different colors soon
2. I'll do that tomorrow
3. Yeah it's possible and easy too
4. Can you get me a good 100x100 pic of him? If so I'll do that tomorrow
5. I'll do that tomorrow

Ask FC about the hosting crap. And is there anything else you'd like to see on here?

Just email me a zip file containing the source files and create an A record for your domain name pointing it to 69.165.173.172.

Also just an FYI: I'm not really sure if you mind, me and MSX had several discussions over this as the result of some additions he tried to make to ELR, but MSX has a habit of making a large portion of his sites out of copypasta. For example, just quickly googling some source code from the buttons shows they were taken from here: (1, 2). This one seems to be more original than others, (although there isn't much there so that could explain why), but I just thought I'd let you know. It's something that bothers me personally, but I will have no problems hosting the site anyway if you're fine with it.

Also, as a sort of by-product from most of the code coming from blogs demoing new web-dev features, most of this site will not work in any IE below 9 (AKA 40% of web users, admittedly the dumb ones).

I'll ask FC asap lol he beat meh

and no other requests 8D But I think I'll poll the public to see what they like or would possibly change after you work on those things Wink

EDIT: will do FC. will let you know if I have trouble creating a record as I'm not entirely sure what that means. The "stolen"-ness doesn't really bother me, and the old-IE problem doesn't really bother me either. (out of curiosity what do you mean by "this site" - the homepage, or the forum?)

if you mean the homepahe msx made, I suppose it might be nice if the link to the forums is still clearly visible on browsers that don't support the rest, if that's feasible to do and test

MSX's homepage won't work in IE (below 9, 40%, etc.). The forum is fine.

If you need help we could find some place to chat (what happened to the shoutbox?) and I can guide you through it.

edit in response to your edit: The part of his homepage that won't work will be all the glowy and glossy effects and possibly some of the layout. The overall structure of the site should be intact, it will just look ugly. I can't give you an exact answer because I'm not a Windows user and I don't have IE on hand.

I lol'd at FC.

Yes the navbar is copypasta. But since it's a tutorial, I figured no one copyrighted any of the code or images. And I had to do quite a bit myself. Everything else, I made from scratch.

As for the IE thing, I know that it won't work on IE 8 and lower very well, but luckily, IE 9 is only for Vista and up and I have XP. I'll be installing IE 6 soon enough to make sure everything works.

And can someone tell me if it looks good on widescreen monitors? Cuz I only have a 1024x768 display.

It looks okay in IE 8 but he needs to fix up the css so borders don't show around images that are links, which is pretty easy to do.
