New People / Relations

So, apparently people are able to find us in the livestream directory now We found this out yesterday by some dude stumbling along here, and it was a fiasco by people greeting him probably a bit too friendly, shoving video links in his face, and describing our recent history of the site to him. He was really turned off by that, but stuck around for an hour or two regardless.

So, here's some things we need to think about when new people come in the livestream chat or to the forums (especially if we begin to get higher traffic some day)
1) they are probably just looking around
2) most of them wont make a track
3) our chat is pretty chill, keep it that way around new people
4) they don't want to be treated like they are super important, they just want to be treated normally

Just thought I should point this out. Agree, disagree, more thoughts?

Our stream was always able to be found, it's just that nobody ever showed up

It's like
"This is how to give criticism."
"This is how to make a track."
"This is how to greet new people."

That all just seems odd to me. But I do agree with everything in these threads. They can be helpful from time to time for the community

I wasn't telling anyone how to greet people I was just a little appalled at the actions of some of the people in chat the other day (I'm looking at you Rabid) and trying to remind everyone to chill out when someone new comes along and not to immediately try to forcibly recruit them to our group. Not that anything anybody was doing was wrong or bad, just maybe think about how you would think if you where one of those guys.

Lol, I always act that way. I think we're just a bit more self conscious about it when a new member is around.

It was just a random guy in the steam chat. No one knows who he was.

No new people allowed. I'll be sure to force an IRTL sammich down their throats when they come so they run away as soon as possible.
