[INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
EDIT: bugs fixed : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/49905412/6y.2.swf
So shotoku and I attacked mhenr on the stream last night and managed to get some modifications to 6.X out of him.
- working XY snap
- Z and X will let you zoom all the way out and all the way in to superzoom in play mode
- Shift+Z and Shift+X in play mode allow super smooth slow zooming, in as well as out
- grey status text in the bottom left corner of the screen tells you zoom level while you zoom (and status of XY snap, sticky color playback, and sticky slo-mo when they get changed)
- Press B and type a number to set an exact zoom level (look at status text)
- Press L and type a number to set an exact framerate for slo-mo level (look at status text)
- shift+C locks color playback
- shift+N sets the default (non-shifted) zoom level for playback at the current zoom level
- N sets the current zoom to the default zoom level
- Timer continues from the time the flag was placed (instead of starting at zero)
- Shift+V automatically makes a new save marked with the linecount and current date and time (and status text verifies it)
- Bosh always starts in the exact center of the screen when you hit play
- Shift+M toggles sticky slow motion
- G toggles GUI visibility
- 1fps slo-mo - zoom status doesn't show up while zooming
- in slow-mo at 1 or 2 fps, zooming disappears the frame you release the X or Z button, doesn't let you know your final zoom level (mildly annoying)
- shift+x (smooth zooming) in play mode in slomo - status is all "XY SNAP"
- thresholds for the Y snap are a little wonky (upper right and lower left)
- the timer starts at the time the flag was placed even when you start from the beginning (with A)
EDIT2: all bugs fixed as far as I can tell!

Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
Now that zooming is totally unrestricted within the superzoom range, the old "special" zooms are 200, 300 and 600.
In addition I built this from the same source as 6.x using the same tools, so ALL 6.x compatible tracks will work. Because 6.x and 6.y are 6.7 based (from source - I didn't decompile or anything for x and y) I'll build them in Flash 8, CS3 and CS4 as well if people request that, which should let some older tracks play.
edit: I'm not releasing versions compiled with older Flash versions immediately because I have to fire up Windows and install the right Flash version so I'll only do it if it's actually needed.

300 = max scroll zoommhenr18 wrote:Now that zooming is totally unrestricted within the superzoom range, the old "special" zooms are 200, 300 and 600.
300 = max Z zoom
200 = default play zoom
600 = max tool zoom
20 = min X zoom
Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
Shift-M = Toggle sticky slow motion.
(instead of being a bug, it's properly implemented now)
Also, G = Toggle GUI visibility.

Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
Any chance of getting a download? I really don't like using a browser for linerider very much. This is a great build.

I love how 6.X didn't have XY snap.

Yo mhenr if you're still around I found some bugs
- 1fps slo-mo - zoom status doesn't show up while zooming
- zooming disappears as soon as you release the X or Z button, doesn't let you know your final zoom level (mildly annoying)
- shift+x (smooth zooming) in play mode in slomo - status is all "XY SNAP"
- 1fps slo-mo - zoom status doesn't show up while zooming

Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
Apparently this didn't occur for Shotoku, but when I hold shift and scroll up on the scroll wheel, it zooms out rather than in.

I don't really have trouble, but I find the thresholds for the snap are a little wonkyKramwood wrote:i think the name of the swf might be cursed. Now sometimes I have trouble making y lines with the xy snap. idk if anyone else is having this issue.

Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
Timer continues from the time the flag was placed (instead of starting at zero)
I noticed that, the timer starts at the time the flag was placed even when you start from the beginning, instead of starting back at 0.
Also the skicky slow motion seems to be a bit glitchy. It seems to only work if I release 'shift' before I release 'm'. Pressing and releasing 'm' with 'shift' held doesn't work for me on this version which is what I always did on previous versions. However, when I hold shift down while I press and release m, it will go back to normal speed next time I hit play. weird.
it works like it should for me. not sure what version of flash you're using, but I use fp 10Cereal wrote:Apparently this didn't occur for Shotoku, but when I hold shift and scroll up on the scroll wheel, it zooms out rather than in.

second one - Shift+M (hold shift, press and release M) toggles sticky slow motion. look in the lower left and it will tell you if it's turning sticky slomo on or off (sticky = press Y and it stays slomo). Pressing M normally makes slomo itself turn on/off. Works just fine for me none of the issues you described
Cereal - scroll zooming is "backwards" from Lion/Mountain Lion
added list of issues/bugs to OP

ok, I think I understand what it's supposed to do now. I thought turning on the sticky slow mo to on would make bosh start in slow motion right away by default (possible change?), and sticky off he would start in normal speed by default. I didn't realize it was set up so that you would have to press 'm' again after you press play while the sticky was on in order to make bosh start in slow mo after that.

Fixed all of the bugs, shotoku confirmed them as fixed in stream.

AC did, you couldn't type G in the save panel without hiding the UI. Fixed that up.

Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
Here's something I came across
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fl9llmn9r3ht9ui/Screen%20Recording%2021.mov
Left is 6.x right is 6.y.2
When I scroll to zoom in/out on 6.y.2 (or 1) it flickers/bugs out a lot. More zoomed in, worse it gets. Not sure if its my mouse settings (I use a magic mouse) but I don't get the same problem on 6.x or any other revision of LR.

Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
This is kinda besides the point, but how can you use the magic mouse on Line Rider? I used to use it for a week or two, but it acts weird in games since there is no scroll wheel.CamQuartr wrote:I use a magic mouse

Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
Because I've never owned/used any other mouse. Before my iMac i had a laptop and never had a mouse with it. So i'm completely used to it.
Re: [INTRODUCING] Revision 6.Y
same thing happes to me. weird. surprised I never noticed that beforeCamQuartr wrote:Here's something I came across
