Long tracks Empty Long tracks

After watching a track like this (Link to the track I'm talking about), I have to wonder why tracks have gotten so short. My feeling is that since everyone is older and has more responsibilities and not much time to play line rider as much. Or since many of us have been playing for so long, making small tracks is funner and takes less effort. Discuss among ye.

Making long tracks just takes forever and a half in this era of extreme technical trackmaking. Whereas entire tracks of flatsledding can be made in an hour, it oftentimes takes days to simply achieve three or four wells in a quirk. The sheer time and commitment required to make progress is just much greater nowadays than it used to be.

Also, it's kind of fun to make short tracks so you don't get tired of the same style. I've got a three-minute track in the works and the only reason I haven't gone completely insane is because it's a wildly varied omni. If I were to make three minutes of quirk, that'd be overly taxing, not to mention ridiculous :P

We literally had a thread like this a couple weeks ago...

Also, I'd say that tracks have actually gotten longer. In 2009/2010, the majority of tracks were <60 second quirky tracks with the occasional <60 second manual track.

A lot of today's tracks are, surprisingly, what's considered full length (1:15-1:45 depending on the style).
